Ejaculation: helps or hurts

It is an interesting observation about chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome that some men have relief of symptoms when they ejaculate and for others ejaculation is painful :boom: and makes the symptoms worse. I am still very unclear as to the mechanism of pain with ejaculation although there are many theories including seminal vesicle infection, SV stones or obstruction, neuromuscular spasm set off by the ejaculatory contraction or neural pain (similar to the pain with sex women experience with IC). I am particularly curious if people jump from one group to the other or if the response to ejaculation is a constant.

for me it mainly depends on lenth of time between ejac.if only 3 to 4 days ,no real problems of after effects.if more frequent,no pain during but a lot of pain in the lower back afterward.almost like a fidney infection.if longer durations such as a week or more, then I have a lot of pain in the groin area.this tells me its time to empty.and ejac is very painfull.but no pain afterwards.also the longer duration the thicker semen is.this could explain painful ejac.for me anyway.

You should answer the poll instead of writing an answer here, but you raise a useful point. For many men:

frequent ejaculation = pain
long delays between ejaculation = pain
ejaculation after long delay = pain relief

Not sure how the poll could cope with this ...

I always felt that the better the ejaculation the more pain relief. This occurs with longer intervals between sex and greater arousal. I feel that a weaker ejaculate doesn't fully clean out the tubes and leaves a residue which contributes to increased pain. Ofcourse this is IMHO.

I'm interested in reading more about the theories of mechanism of pain with ejaculation Dr. Shoskes called. Are there some studies (links)?
