Detrol.

Post by Glenn »

Hi guys.I have managed to convince the doc to put me on a months course of Detrol for my agonising at times, urgency and frequency.I just wondered how long it takes to have a noticable effect? And does it work in every individual?

I appreciate that behaviarol patterns take a while to change after your body is so used to the tense holding and muscle/nerve dysfunction, and the brain sending signals to your your bladder which may be false. The trouble being that the body perceives feeling like this as normal after a while, and therein leads to psychological blocks where you may panick at being in a busy place and not able to pee if you want to.This then excerbates the problem tenfold.I have this problem as well, but don't know how to break it.

Thanks for any replies guys.I hope you understand what I am getting at.Urinary problems at 28 are very distressing and tiresome, and impact hugely as I'm sure many of you know.

All the Best,

Glenn,

It actually made mine worse, it can cause urinary retention believe it or not. I quit after about 10 days.
Age: 45 Onset: 43. | Symptoms: Tightness, spasms, burning and pain in the perineum. Occassional mild pain after urination in the perineum. Helped by: Cardura, quitting caffiene, relaxation, fiber, stand up workstation and some PT a year ago. Makes Worse: ANXIETY, ULTRAM, going to work, sitting or squatting too long, constipation (big problems), stress, and sometimes unexplainable.

I was on Ditropan as well. It helped with the urgency and seemed to decrease the volume of urine I was producing, but it made it hard to urinate. And I still felt like I had to go, just not as badly.
