sexual pain

Post by gagagoo »

here is my history (to skip to my question go to the bottom of the page)

i am 20yrs old and I have been suffering with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome for about 2 years now. I have had a vericocelectomy and a hydrocelectomy, the pain started after the hydrocolectomy which happened about 2 or 2 and 1/2 years ago. I suspect my symptoms may have been affected by returning to sexual activity shortly after my surgery. my doctor said it was okay to do anything after a week, however I later read from many sources that you should abstain from sexual activity for 6 weeks! this made me pretty upset. so I saw another urologist later on and he said my hydrocelectomy was okay. no damage done. (i guess..) so I am not exactly sure of how it started.
i suspect my symptoms could be from masturbating for long periods of time in a hard wooden computor chair as a teenager, and also from long bike rides on an uncomfortable bike seat)... I have many other theories as well.
i strongly believe that I hold my stress in the pelvic and stomach region. as a kid I had a lot of stomach problems that showed no physical abnormalities when I checked them out at the doctor. (bowel problems, frequent urination, diaharea, constapation, etc.) and since my symptoms are aggravated by stress, I feel that this is atleast ONE element of this condition.

my symtoms are aggravated by stress, sitting/standing, or after ejaculation and after bowel movements. (pain in perineum, fullness, golfball flare-ups in stressful situations). I also have had reocurrent hemmorhoids and rectal pain. sometimes extreme pain in my abdomen after bowel movements (cramping pain). so anyway...

MY QUESTION:

my question is about ejaculation and vasocongestion "blue balls"
last year I had a great amount of pain (sharp pain, spasming, and cramping) after I would ejaculate, then soreness for 1-2 days afterward.
then, after the first year of pain it went away (mostly). I only have a very dull pain or soreness after ejaculation now.

currently I have had trouble ejaculating during sex because of my overall anxiety about sex probably caused by my occasional sexual dysfunctions (occasional weak erections, loss of erection during sex, low libido, and low sensitivity in my penis) and becuase of inexperience in the area.
this usually leads to extended periods of sex with no orgasm. usually over an hour or a few hours. (obviously with some breaks)

i have experienced vasocongestion MANY TIMES!!!

**************************
when I had vasocongestion before my symptoms of chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome my testicles would be sore for a short period of time, then it would go away.

NOW, when I don't ejaculate after sex I experience EXTREME PAIN. after about 20 minutes after stopping sex my testicles become very sensitive to the point where I feel I have been kicked very very hard. the pain is all the way through to my abdomen. and my testicles are enlarged and extremely sensitive to touch. this level of pain lasts for atleast 2-3 hours!! then, slowly diminishes and spreads to my perineum and anus and through my penis.

i have tried masturbating. but, if I ejaculate after the pain has started the outcome of masturbating is an even more extreme pain thoughout my testicles and abdomen.

it's like there's no solution. sometimes I can't stimulate myself to orgasm because I lose my erection (probably out of fear of not ejaculating and experiencing the awful pain of vasocongestion). it's much like the viscious cycle of chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome in general.

none of my friends can sympathize with me because they view blue balls as just that dull pain that lasts for a short period of time. they don't understand the horrible pain that I am feeling.

has anyone else experienced this level of pain from vasocongestion?

I don't know if I've had that exact condition, but it sounds like something I may have experienced during my time with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome (4 years now).

Overall though, if there are no known medical problems causing your condition, it sounds as though you could be a classic chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome sufferer (classic in the latest-information-known kind of way). Chronic tension, long periods of sexual excitment, etc... can shorten your muscles and lead to many of the problems of CPPS, including the formation of trigger points and painful sexual problems.

The rectum is full of muscles. There is very little else there. When you say rectal pain, you are probably experiencing pain from the various muscles in the area - sphincter, levator ani, etc... This could be a GOOD thing that you have pain there. Often times, the pain in chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome is only referred pain and you have no idea where it's coming from. If you know you have pain in the muscular tissue of the rectum, it is a good bet you have trigger points that need to be difused, and some muscles that need to be stretched.

As for me, abdominal muscles cause a lot of my referred pain. The fact that you have pain in your abdominals indicates that you might need to do some work there too.

Lastly, the mention of stress, sitting/standing, and golf-ball feeling (caused by tight muscles in the rectum, although it SURE feels like it's your prostate when it probably isn't), all indicate that you have chronic muscle problems.

You are young, and have to start looking forward to the rest of your life. Don't wait too long to diagnose yourself and start doing the work it takes to get rid of this problem. If you start stretching, relaxing, doing self massage on your groin and abdominals (see viewtopic.php?t=2127), and get the right physical therapy, you could be out of your pain before too long. Just don't focus on the daily pain - look at this long term and don't think - just act. All of us have felt sorry for ourselves at one point or another (I still do all the time). But shit happens. And you have to deal with it. Remember - everybody has something. You just have CPPS. Perhaps the relaxation and stretching you do will prevent future problems later in life - they are good skills and keep blood pressure down.

Hang in there!

thanks for the reply. I beleive it is a muscle thing also

i have a question:
do you think any accredited quercetin product is right for my condition?

(i have started a regimen of stretching my pelvic muscles, taking hot baths for 10 or 15 minutes twice a day, and meditating for 15 min twice a day. I have done this on and off over the last year or so and the results have been mediocre but I have had some symptomatic relief. I believe that if I do it every day (as I have been lately) it will begin to improve more substantially.)

I don't know much about Quercetin. I took it a while back and I don't remember it helping me much. But perhaps I didn't take it long enough (90 days).

If you've been doing things solo for a year, it might be time to pay for a few PT sessions to help get you real bang for your buck. If there are difficult to reach trigger points, or shortened muscles in areas you can't press, you won't be able to heal these spots with out 3rd party help. If you have a girlfriend or a family member who can help you, they can be taught by the PT as well.
