Question about Botox-Treatment

Post by MBey »

Hey all,

I'm doing the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol for about 3 months now, but expect from a little improvement (20-30%) in the beginning, I still have the same problems with urgency and frequency. How long did it take in your case to see a notable improvement of the urge/frequency with this protocol?

Therefore I m thinking about getting Botox injections for the bladder.

Unfortunately as I asked two urologists in different hospitals they had two totally different approaches about the treatment.

The first said, he'll do about 50 units of Botox in the surface of the bladder to calm down the nerves.

The second one told me, he'd reckon to do about 250 units of Botox in the muscles of the bladder neck to relax the muscles.

What is the right/most promising therapy???
Is it about the surface to calm down the nerves or the muscles?

Did somebody get already any injections and could give me an advice?

Thanks a lot for any help!

Marc

I stayed on DETROL for about one year after visiting Stanford and then my frequency just went away. I have been off all frequency medication for one year and three months. I probably have two days per month where my frequency is noticable.

Hi Michael,
you mean that you applied the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol for about one year (including triggerpoint massages?) and then the frequency symptoms just went away?
