Am in unbelieveable pain at the moment. Spinal specialist (I'm desperate) has suggested x-ray guided pudendal nerve block to see if this is the problem. Makes sense and seems like a relatively harmless procedure which could be diagnostic. Could explain my ambiguous generalised pelvic problems. I would never consider the surgery - it looks terrible, would rather live on painkillers.
My pain is not immediately worse on sitting - but I'm wondering if it's irritated this way. Have exams at the moment and am spending lots of time at my desk - the pain is REALLY bad at the moment - weird flashes, coming in waves.
Also, I want to get an MRI just to rule out anything bizarre - a benign tumor near a nerve or something. My doctor thinks it's a waste of money but he's not the one who has had to live with this. This pain is serious and I have to do everything I can to figure it out. I can't live with this.
Any advice appreciated.

What pain medication are you taking - such as Ultram (Tramadol)?

Nerve Blocks
Yes! Please read the post I just placed on how diagnostic nerve blocks and a high definition MRI cured me at the hospital for special surgery in NYC!!!! My title is Sucess Story. The nerve block is a piece of cake, After pudendal nerve, try genitofemoral and ilioinginal nerve blocks until you get the right one. Don't be afraid, I have had allergy shots that have hurt more than a nerve block, its a small injection..baby stuff.
