Bextra, Vioxx for pain relief

Post by latte »

I have been fighting this chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome for over a year now. I have tried several medications without much pain relief. My doctor just gave me a new COX-2 inhibitor called Bextra. I tried Vioxx last year but I didn't like it because it made my loopy. The Bextra seems to have minimal side effects and does seem to diminish the pain at least 50%. Hope it lasts.

You may have to move to Ultram or the opioids, with your doctor's agreement, if the NSAIDS fail.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Agree. Ultram may be indicated at this time. Ask your doctor about it.

My doctor says that Bextra is a new age Vioxx, similar but improved. It doesn't seem to make me so loopy, I dont' know a better word than that. It is also a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory.
