Sexual Dysfunction

Post by lukesky »

I have suffered from prostatitis for about 8 years. The first 6 months were the worst. It started as frequent urination and then burning in the rectum area. At that time I had no sexual dysfunction and could "perform" just fine. Gradually as the years progressed to the present I am suffering from all kinds of sexual functioning difficulty. I think a lot of it has to do with "anxiety" related to performing since the pain has gradually increased over the years and my fear of "failure" due to difficulty getting and maintaining erections. I also suffer from premature ejac. I even had my vasectomy reversed and that made the burning in my rectum area worse - immediately after surgery by pelvic muscles in my rectum were twice as tight and I burned like hell too. I am completely convinced now that this is a pelvic tension problem and a anxiety over performance issue.

I no longer get noctural erections at all and even when I masturbate - since my wife and I no longer have sex due to the dysfunction - I have difficulty getting erections without any pressure to "perform"

Are my pelvic muscle so tense that they are shutting down the flow of blood to my penis??? Has anyone else suffered from this?

What can I do to regain sexual functioning? What has worked for others???

Thanks

Luke

Hi.

I am not a doctor, just a fellow sufferer in the chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome thing. It sucks and I understand. My advice to you is a couple of things. You need to have a good team around you. You need to be comfortable with you urologist and get a few opinions and try new things. Don't give up!!! You need a psychologist in your corner. This doesn't mean you are crazy. Imagine if you and your wife did a few joint sessions on how to cope with your problem. That would probably releive a lot of your anxiety quickly and get everything out on the table. It would be very understandable how anxiety would affect you. A good neurologist in your corner would help too. Don't isolate yourself or be proud. Get the help that you need from a few areas and that should be your best bet. Good luck in your battle, I am in a different, yet similar circumstance.

Good advice! Have you tried Viagra? I don't think anyone has got the answer to why the sex issues... But you can try a lot of thing's to help with them. Viagra, yohimbe, or a product called n02 that I use. but don't try viagra, in combo with the herbal's. Ask your doctor. I use n02 and yohimbe to help with E.D and low libido. It has given me back some of my sex life back. Swallow your pride, and just go get help with this. I know it suck's, but n02 is actualy for wieghtlifters so they might think you are just workin out
