Looks like something I would not touch. It's probably made up from information off this website. :-|

i think you maybe right webslave! reading the curious link, they have very similar ideas to this forum. I wonder if the material presented is anecdotal, or whether he sites related authors. it would be interesting to hear a post from someone whos read this book, by giving feedback on it.

The Author of the book emailed me here is his response
Read From the Bottom UP

Yes, the exercises are very similiar. A Headache in the Pelvis goes into more detail than my ebook, but the overall concepts are nearly the same.

Someone sent me this message:
Mark,

That book that was discussed in the post "Anyone read this" is written by a guy named Dayne.

Dayne was at the May 2004 Stanford clinic when I was there. He must have taken the information from this website and from David Wise's protocol.

Actually he seemed like a very nice guy, but since he admittedly does not offer anything further to what is in AHIP, I feel that what he's doing is deceptive. Any sufferer would be much better off reading AHIP than his book. I haven't read his book, but he's basically giving other people's ideas.

Also, I strongly doubt that he's symptom free. The post in the forum is from early July, so he would have only been on the SP for a little more than a month at the time. If you take away the time it would have taken to get the book made, he likely started to write the book before he went to see DW. My impression was that he was in more pain than I was in. If he claims to be symptom free, it's not true.

I have nothing against this guy personally, but is he a qualified medical expert? I too would like to know what his credentials are.

On the website, the book looks like a hardcover, but it is actually an ebook as bosco noted.

The author did not mention the fact that he runs the site: http://www.oxycodon-on-line.redmaven.com (the IP addresses are the same) which contradicts what he is stating about drug-free pain relief.

The guy may not be a psychologist like David Wise and may be copying his ideas, but personally, I'd rather see another book on pelvic muscle dysfunction as the cause of chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome than a book like Brad Hennenfent's, which supports the infection hypothesis.

The Stanford group is conducting an NIH-funded study of its protocol, and if the study shows that its methodology is very effective in treating CPPS, Wise and Anderson will get the credit and recognition they deserve, I hope. The author of this new book has no credentials and is not publishing a study on CPPS, AFAIK, so he is a nobody in the scientific community.

Hmmm...writing a book summarizing the most important material on this site might not be such a bad idea. One doesn't have to have an MD to publish a book on CPPS. It could be a book for patients, written by a patient. You're a good writer, Mark, why don't you go for it?

The point I was trying to make it that it's not worth buying a book composed of material taken from other sources, some of which are FREELY available, like parts of this forum and the ucpps.men website.

We are not all driven by the profit motive. Not yet, anyway.

Thanks.
I heard 2nd hand that he attended a recent trigger point intensive -- as a patient -- and was in such pain he spent a lot of it lying down because he was in pain.

The technique may be fab and his book may be better; but he is not a poster boy for either. A lot of people who claim to be better have mostly achieved wishful thinking; and that is no crime, but selling a book in that situation comes close.
