STIFFNESS IN LEG MUSCLES?
Does anyone else have this? My hamstrings are so tight all the time that it makes it painful to bend over. I try stretching, but it comes right back. In the mornings if I try to touch my toes I can only reach my knees. I just wanted to see if this is related to this condition. I think if I could stay limber all the time I would be doing better.
Age:33 | Onset Age: 20 | Symptoms: burning urethra after urinating, followed by rush to urinate again, rectal pain after a bowel movement sometimes, frequency. | Helped By: Pyridium and Ativan | Worsened By: stress, sitting and unknown reasons.

My 'strings are ok, but my inside-of-high-thigh muscles (the ones you stretch doing the splits) have become really screwed up, tight all the time in spite of stretching (i even managed to pull/strain the left one, whoops). Not only that, they sometimes feel really weird, as tho made of dry-rotting rubber or something.
I think this is just the muscles getting very weary of continual inflammation.

After 2 years with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome 6 months ago I started to suffer similar tendons-muscolar trobles. The problems are maily located in the legs and foot, but aso hands and arms are involved. Foot pain is the most disturbing and when it is worse, akill tendon is painful as well
I have had several ' I dont know' replies from Reumathologist and Orthopedic and Lab exams do not show anything strange.
I do also wander if it is a sort of 'global' inflammation, but exams shoud give evidence.
Anybody here who has/had similar problems who can tell something about evolution?
Thanks Mario

I have a lot of RSI-type problems (computer work). And back pain, plus sciatica recently (injury).
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

I used to have plenty of the tissue/nerve kind(s) of pain, but those seem to have succumbed to 5 months of Prostaprotek and focused relaxation. So these days joint pain and muscle (& tendon?) pain/tightness predominate. It's all right around the pelvis tho, from hi thigh to low back. I can't shake it.

It seems that joints-muscular-tendons pain is quite common among CP-CPPS sufferes. I have found a couple surveys in the net (actually quite old) where same 20% of CP sufferers reported joints-articular troubles.
Mine has started 6 months ago, while CP-CPPS started 2 years ago. Considerering that I also had irritated eyes, RS/RA was considered. But symtoms seem milder and many joints are effected. Lab exams and reumathologist excluded (at least for the moment) artritis.
I'd like to know if this is really a sort of 'side effect' of CP-CPPS and which is the possible evolution, according to the members experience.
Thanks. Mario

I've had it from the beginning, 6 months ago, if you dont count the initial attack (1 week of frequency, bladder pain, followed by a week of perfect health).
Despite a great reduction sharp CPP pains, I've been dealing with increasing depression and fatigue for about 2 months now, and my muslce/joint pains definitely correlate very closely with mood/energy shifts. (That won't surprise anyone who knows a bit about the somatic effects of depression.)

I have had a great amount of success with acupuncture. As many of you know, acupuncture operates under the premise that there are meridians that flow throughout the body that are connected to various organs. These meridians carry chi (energy) and it's the blockages in chi that create or contribute to various illnesses. The bladder meridian runs through the back of the legs (hamstrings) and it is very likely that tight hamstrings are a symptom of this condition. I would strongly recommend stretching out the hamstrings, preferably in the context of a yoga class, and you will find that many of the urinary symptoms will dissipate. Over the long term, this goes a long way toward significantly alleviating the urinary frequency. And acupuncture works, of course, by applying needes to different bladder points throughout the body.

The tendon, muscle, and nerve pain may be a result of quinolone therapy, which is commonly given to patients suffering from bacterial prostatitis. I have IC, but my nerve and muscle issues are a result of a drug called Avelox. My hamstrings and calves are so tight I can't touch my toes. I have nerve damage in my elbows and feet. (incidently, the quinolone was given to me for another reason).
How many of you have taken any of the following drugs?
Avelox
Levaquiin
Floxin
Tequin
These drugs can cause tendon ruptures, peripheral neuropathy, tendonitis, and other nasty stuff.
