My calf muscles contract too
Ya know, I can't believe that I have never given this any thought, but my calf muscles at rest, I mean, just sitting down move on there own. I can watch them fire off one by one. I have defined calf muscles, so it is easy to observe. This process never stops. It does not hurt, so I never payed attention. Probably the same procces that goes on in my pelvic floor. I did a search on the net, and the only thing I found similar was something called restless legs syndrome. I think it is the same thing that goes on in my pelvic floor.... any thoughts?

yeah I sort of get it in my feet. When I lay down to do relaxation, my feet will often be the first place to just tense up by itself. Also, how does Hellerwork compare to Rolfing?

Hellerwork is based on Rolfing. Hellerwork adds verbal therapy and self-guided stretching in between sessions:kpbos wrote:Also, how does Hellerwork compare to Rolfing?

Yes, I completed the full program. It was very helpful for my lower back pain and for my posture. Each session feels like a "rough" massage, and you definitely leave feeling loose and relaxed. There is one session that focusses on the pelvic, groin, and abdominal muscles. This was somewhat helpful for me, but the effects didn't last more than a day.one day... wrote:Thanks MS I will. I have never heard of it, have you tried it?
I would certainly recommend a Hellerwork session try for anyone with "whole body tension." But frankly, the stretches in AHIP are more useful for me overall.
