daytime and nighttime symptoms

Post by red75 »

Today was a particularly bad symptom day, however I notice in the evening and nightime the symptoms are noticeablly(?) less. Does this hold true for anyone else and does anyone know why?

Do you have a stressful job that requires you to work during the day? Perhaps you are less anxious and your pelvic muscles are more relaxed in the evenings after work?
This is not medical advice. Please consult your physician.

It is the same for me. I think everything gets a chance to rest and calm down
when we sleep. But as soon as I get up my symptoms come roaring back. Also laying down keeps direct pressure off of the prostrate and pelvic area.

my job is a little stressful. I am up and down a lot. The symptoms are not bad after work and of course I feel none while sleeping.

Yup, seems to be the case for me also. Early on I had bad symptoms which kept me awake at nite. Actually lost a lot of weight back then because I couldn't sleep. Since then I sleep great and feel good in the morning until I pee or defecate. Then the symptoms are at their worse between 10am to 5pm. When I get home and lie down I feel better and on the weekends feel better. When on vacation symptoms go down quite a bit. I would hate to quit working but I can retire in a few years and then maybe I will feel better more consistently. Friday after work is usually the worst.

I have discomfort towards the end of the workday, seemingly from sitting in a chair all day. When I can, I like to just lie down on the couch after work and it seems to help. I feel best whenever I wake up. If I take a nap in the evening I wake up refreshed. If I don't get enough sleep, things get worse.

I've found that my key to success is no pop, and a cushion at work to take pressure off my perineal.

Just to add to this discussion: In my case, symptoms nearly always get worse as the day progresses then get slightly better again in late evening. There's usually a curve with the lowest dip sometime between 5-10pm. It doesn't really matter how I spend the day.

I find exactly the same thing: good in the morning, gets worse throughout the day, and then gets MUCH better in the evening.
