Antiproliferative factor may offer marker for IC
Bladder factor is shown to have >90% sensitivity/specificity for IC, research shows

[comment: this may only mean that APF is produced when the inflammation is centred in the bladder. It does not mean that chronic prostatitis is essentially different from chronic sterile cystitis]

Cooled TUMT appears feasible for chronic prostatitis

This must be the Susan Keay study discussed here: viewtopic.php?t=1447webslave wrote:Antiproliferative factor may offer marker for IC

Yes, but a more precise diagnostic procedure is always good news. Besides, we simply don't know the exact relationship of CP & IC. Even if they are 2 dots on the same spectrum, they may require a somewhat different treatment approach. Of course, the same can be said for any 2 men diagnosed with CP.[comment: this may only mean that APF is produced when the inflammation is centred in the bladder. Just curious, assuming it turns out that APF gets the marker status, how long til uros start using it as their standard diagnostic tool? One year? Five?
