Hi Everyone,
Last Thursday morning as I mentioned, I had my cysto. Wasn't too bad.
Well, last night, I was feeling good enough to have sex. I received oral, and it didn't hurt. Ejaculation didn't hurt.
When I went to the bathroom to wash my penis, the soap and water immediately stung as I rubbed my penis off. So now the tip of my penis is very sensitive to the touch ever since I tried to wash it off. It tingles and stings every time it rubs against anything---my hand, underwear--whatever.
Is this normal after a cysto? If anyone else has experienced the same thing, please let me know. Should I call my uro or wait for it to go away for a few days?

My entire urinary tract was quite sensitive and urination painful after a cysto. However, it settled down after several days. I'd give it a few more days and see what happens.

Age:39. Age at onset:31. Symptoms prior to treatment: Golf ball in rectum, severe urinary frequency (2-3x/hr; 5-10x/night); weak stream; painful ejaculation; coccygeal pain; tip of penis pain; general pelvic pain on left; testicular pain; supra-pubic pain. Current | Symptoms: Urinary frequency 1x every 2-3 hrs and 1-2 x a night; mild pelvic pain on left hand side (all symptoms still improving!)
Helped by: Trigger point release; avoiding exercise; pelvic floor relaxation; Neurontin decreased bladder sensitivity somewhat. Worsened by: Exercise; frequent ejaculation; ibuprofen irritates bladder. Made no difference: Diet; biofeedback; quercetin; Steroid anti-inflammatories; Elavil.
****UPDATE*** I am now able to sit again at work all day, and can perform moderate aerobic exersise again for the first time in 8 years!!!

Alpost, I agree. After a few days the burning after urination goes away. Actually right after my cysto I felt much better but the next few days were pretty uncomfortable. I took a med that the doctor gave me(can't remember the name) which turned my urine a bright orange, it helped. Don't worry about the cysto, the effects I suffered just lasted a few days.

Sex after Cysto
The burning while urinating went away after the first day actually by taking Pyridium, which does turn the urine bright orange---and stains the hell out of underwear, I might add.
But the tip of my penis had been okay until I received the oral sex last night. It was still fine after ejaculating, but when I washed off w/ soap and water, then the stinging and tingling occurred at the tip. Now, anytime it brushes against my underwear or I touch it, it stings.

I agree with Alprost and Latte. It took me several days until the burning went away. At least you got your libido back right away. That took me several weeks!latte wrote:Alpost, I agree. I wonder what gets those stains out!dkell9394 wrote:The burning while urinating went away after the first day actually by taking Pyridium, which does turn the urine bright orange---and stains the hell out of underwear, I might add.
I'm glad your cysto went so well, and the stinging sensation is probably only temporary. It's also heartnening to read that you wasted no time throwing yourself back into the game - an example for us all.
Good for you! It's a nice contrast with a message I got recently from someone (not on this forum) who still kind of blames his now ex-girlfriend from 'giving' him CP. There was no infection, he just felt the sexual act (it happened to be 'vigorous' oral sex) triggered his chronic inflammation cycle. He may have been right about that, but I think blaming the sexual partner in such a case is both futile & wrong.
You don't seem to be taking that route & I think that's great!
Best of luck,
Dave

Sex after Cysto
I was very concerned what impact the cysto would have on me. The very next day, I tried to see if I could get an erection, and I had difficulties. Of course, I was on two medications, plus cold medicine. Fortunately, a day later, I was back to normal, but I can tell you I was pretty scared that I might not be able to get it back.
My main concern now is just the stinging and irritation at the tip. It hasn't gone away since last night after I washed off.
