Does this sound like Prostatitis

Post by mikej »

I've been having pain/discomfort and I wanted to know if it sounds like Prostatistis.

1) About a few months ago, I noticed that I dribbled urine after I urinated. It was really annoying, but I didn't think too much of it because it was off and on. Now it doesn't happen much.

2) Last month, my symptoms really started. In the beginning of Jan, I had a burning pressing pain in my bladder area when I sat down. When I stood up, it seems to go away.

3) Also, when I sit, I have a burning sensation that seems to come from my testicles and/or prerinal area.

4) Discomfort/burning in my groin area (between my inner things and testicles).

5) Burning pain on underside of penis

6) The rim of my penis head seems irritated or enlarged (the white papilles seem larger, white, and irritated) This happened before, went away, now seems to have returned.

7) The end of my foreskin seems sensitive and sometimes the tip of my penis feels sensitive or irritated.

8) Feels like I have to urinate.

9) dull pain in anus area (doctor said my prostate was imflammed), like something is stuck up there.

10) Dull ache in legs (mostly calfs), occassional sharp pain in right knee

11) mostly, these symptoms seems to progress throughout the day, being worse in afternoon or night.

What's concerning me is that I went to a urologist last week and he told me it a prostate infection (dx by enlarge prostate and reported symptoms).

However, I've been on Levaquin for 8 days now and the symptoms seemed to get better for a few days and now seemed to come back.

Do my symptoms sound like Prostatitis? Is it common for P symptoms to come and go like mine?

Thanks in advance for any help,
MJ

All of your symptoms are normal "prostatitis" symptoms.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

I've experienced all the symptoms you describe above and I also was diagnosed with CP.
What's concerning me is that I went to a urologist last week and he told me it a prostate infection (dx by enlarge prostate and reported symptoms). However, I've been on Levaquin for 8 days now and the symptoms seemed to get better for a few days and now seemed to come back.
Did you have a positive urine, semen analysis or bacteria in your EPS? Or did your doctor simply tell you it was an infection? Most men with CP do not appear to have an infection and are not helped by antibiotics. I also have an enlarged prostate & symptoms similar to yours without any signs of infection.
Is it common for P symptoms to come and go like mine?
In my experience, Yes, they come & go mysteriously - I don't think we've fully explored the effects of the full moon on CP symptoms :) - but I've been taking an alpha-blocker for 3 weeks and it appears to have helped a lot with the symptoms of urinary urgency, bladder discomfort & overall pain level.
