Quercetin & Alpha-Blockers

Post by alphacentauri »

I am interested in anyone's experiences in or opinions on taking quercetin/Quercetin and alpha-blockers as part of the same protocol.

I'm in my third week of taking a-blockers (first Flomax, then switched to Xatral) and while I've experienced significant improvement in pain & urinary symptoms, I know it takes longer than a couple of weeks to learn whether a-blockers are really effective. I believe you need at least 3-4 months.

I've had good experience with quercetin in the past & would like to start taking it again ASAP, but if I start the quercetin protocol while still on Xatral, how could I know which treatment is having more of an effect? My need to zero in on precisely the most effective treatment and my desire to take anything I can to get better now are in direct conflict here.

My symptoms are not too bad at the moment. Should I give a-blockers at least 3 months before trying Q? Or is it worth experimenting with both now? (My uro is all for me trying Q/Quercetin, but it's difficult for him to answer this question as well)

Is there anyone here taking both at the same time (or having done so in the past), what are/were your reasons for doing so - and your results?

Thanks

While it is sensible to take one thing at a time, it's also true that one may sometimes benefit from a synergistic effect from simultaneous intake of 2 or more medications. Perhaps try both scenarios: two weeks of uroXatral followed by 2 weeks of uroXatral+Quercetin.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Thanks, that seems like a sensible approach. Xatral's been a big help in reducing my urinary symptoms. Any accredited quercetin product should hopefully take care of the remaining pain.
