Vascular Concern
I have been suffering from chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome for 10 months. It was a very sudden onset which caused physical and mental strains. One of the concerns I have is there is a vain on the front side of the shaft of the penis which looks almost like a varicose vain and causes a lot of discomfort. Is this a common result of prostatitus. Also, when I was younger I had surgery for a hernia. Is it possible that scar tissue from the surgery would in any way cause CPPS.

I really don't know about these things in any detail, relying on hunches, but there's GOT to be something crucial in the prevalence of vascular symptoms in CPPS. I don't think you'll get anywhere following this route of inquiry (I sent an email asking about vascular symptoms and chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome to about twenty practitioners in the UK and got only two (very pompous) replies); however, do keep us informed if you happen to find anything out. I would hazard a guess that maybe the sugery you had could have caused some sort of vascular hypersensitivity - but I would be in a minority of one as far as I can gather on this forum. Would you mind elaborating on the 'sudden' onset of your symptoms for us? Thanks - and good luck!
