I am a depressed patient suffering from chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome for 4 years. TCM helped me, any accredited quercetin product helped me but they upset my stomach and so I have stopped taking them. I am happy to be symptom free today but I understand the symptoms will come back at any time. For example, if I ejaculate today, I will feel my prostate is swollen and have weak urinary stream tomorrow.
Currently, I am receiving treatment from a PT.(Quite expensive!!!) I am not sure he specializes in chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome but he managed to find some external trigger points near my groin area. (He is quite open, but he still hasn't done any intra-rectal myofasical treatment with me because he said sometimes it's not necessary) He is also doing 'BodyTalk' and acupuncture on me. I will wait to see if he can help me, but at the same time I am thinking of going to Stanford from Hong Kong for the monthly clinic. I know it is expensive but I am very depressed as I am just 26. I am not rich but I can spend all my savings if I can find a cure.
I wonder if anyone here is interested or is receiving treatment in stanford?
Do you have something to share?
anyone is going to california for the monthly clinic?

I'm beginning to realize that for most men, finding someone prepared to do intra-rectal massage is not an easy thing.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

After 10 years of pain and continued pain, I have only recently found a person that works with males as well as females. I think if one forces the issue by talking to a lot of ladies, clinics, and or physio's that deal with ladies pelvic floor issues, one may find a physio that deals with men, or a least they may know one that does. My doctor also, who actually knew the person that I now see had no idea that she works with men. The concept of pelvic floor manipulation for men does seem to be hidden from the public as it is not something that is "advertised".

There are some people who are not licensed PTs but ARE qualified to do a safe and good job. I go to someone trained as a Neuromuscular Therapist or NMT which is a medical like massage (trigger point therapy) that is taught from a school in Florida known as the St. John School/St Jonn Method. I have checked with Tim at Stanford Program and its more than 90% similar to his work (Which Tim has done with me as well).
The laws on this vary state by state. In Massachusetts its OK as massage people aren't licensed so its really a consenting adults kind of thing. I understand this is NOT the case in California where someone is deemed to be "practicing medicine" if they enter any orifice.
I would be interested in knowing in which states non PTs or non MDs are OK. Important to check out to make sure these folks really do understand what they are doing. Remember if one's spouse can be trained to do this right-there are smart body workers who could be as well. I know Dr Wise is extra careful and does not openly endorse non-MD, PTs as he is concerned about patient's well being as well as liability.

By the way, if there are people in the Boston/Providence/southern New Hampshire area who want to know the contact details for my practitioner, they can private message me. He understands the problem well (there are 5 or 6 of us now who go) and wants to help.
