CT and MRI scans

Post by uksufferer2 »

What are peoples views on getting CT and MRI scans.
Will they help show up muscle tension, nerve damage etc ....

Also I used to have and eating disorder perhaps that combined with obsessive masturbation could have contributed to nerve damage within my pelvic region ... any thoughts

good luck to all

I don't think imaging studies will be helpful.

However, it is interesting that you have had an eating disorder. Such disorders are linked to anxiety disorders like OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). It seems that this spectrum of disorders is more common in men with pelvic pain, based on many such messages in the past.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

I had a MRI and a CT urogram about six months into CPPS, both of which showed all normal despite a lot of pelvic pain and urinary frequency. I do not think they can see nerve damage this way but I am not a physician. As I look back on it the more I worried about my condition the worse it was.

MRI and CT are useless in this disorder. An ultasound may be of value because it can calculate the amount of post void residual in the bladder. That can be treated with an alpha blocker. Beyond that, imaging has little to add.
