genital herpes and prostatitis - help!

Post by MJS5656 »

I was recently diagnosed with genital herpes HSV type 1. After several extremely stressful weeks I developed painful muscle spasms in my groin and tailbone. The spasms are intermittent but daily. The only other sign of prostatitis I seem to have is frequent urination at night (but only occasionally). Could this be prostatitis? I did have a flare up 10 years ago but the symptoms were different. (It was diagnosed by a Urologist.) I have been to several doctors and one put me on Cipro which seems to lessen the pain and spasms. Can genital herpes causes this condition due to nerve damage? Thank you for your advice.

Viral nerve infections in the pelvis can cause bladder inflammation in mice.
