my plan
My antibiotics are now finished,so after four long months, worse months of my life at one point I was urinating over 30 times a day<burny> and pain all over penis, testicles, buttocks, thighs, nausea, sicknesss, itchy anus
that drove me wild, not to mention the stress I was under not knowing what was wrong with me,led to days on end of no sleep which in turn led to panic attacks. once std was ruled out I felt myself get slightly better, then kidney test was good I felt better again, then I got diagnosed with prostitis and the antibiotics helped at first then I upped the dosage which helped a little bit more, now my symptons are burning uretha, pain in my thighs and buttocks and still the itchy anus also some nausea it is all a far cry from the first few weeks but its still here, what I have noticed is that when I sleep the pain in my thighs. buttocks is away when I wake up ...so now I've ordered any accredited quercetin product which I will take with zinc saw palmetto
inflam actin, rhodioala rosea<stress> Out with spicey food alkohol ,dairy ....and in with fish, pumpkin seeds, pumpkin oil, green tea, mineral water, and excersise three times a week swimming gym and cycling,i will try this for the next month before I go see the doctor again
I will let you know how I get on in a month...if anyone wants to give me any advice it wiould be much appreciated cheers for now....

It sucks that you can't get in to see who you want to see, and it's good youre doing some things for yourself, but there may be a good bit more you could do on your own. Have you seen the book "A Headache in the Pelvis"? Have you considered focused relaxation or an evaluation for pelvic muscle dysfunction (by someone who's qualified to do one)? Focused relaxation is a bit tricky to learn and could take months to start definitely changing your life (took me four)... but most of us are suffering largely because of muscle tension, and focused relaxation can change that. As can physical therapy provided by a pelvic floor specialist.
by the way, IBS can often be treated easily. see viewtopic.php?t=1697
Just be careful treating IBS doesn't irritate your other problems... tho I know of no reason to think it would, and in my case it may have helped my other problems.

I would start taking the advice others have given you in this thread seriously. You keep waiting for a urologist, but I fear that he will jeopardize your health further by putting you on *more* antibiotics. I would work to get control over your anxiety and consider seeing a physiotherapist who is experienced in treating pelvic muscle dysfunction.scotsbloke wrote:eight months later still the same..stilll waiting to see a uro..and now I've got IBS to go with the prostatitis which is nice...i can control the burning uretha with cranberry tablets, zinc,Quercetin, pumpkin seeds, nuts, avoiding spicey things..and loads of still mineral water.....i think ABX have given me joint problems in my knees...becareful with ABX...
BTW, cranberry tablets are the last thing you should be taking if you have frequency and dysuria.

I would second all of this 100%. I have contact details of a physio in Scotland who treats this condition. I know it is a treck for you, but even if you could go and see him once, there might be some strategy he could use to help you - email me if you want his number. I can tell you from experience that sitting around waiting for a Uro to be able to offer you a solution to this problem will likely get you nowhere.MastCells wrote:I would start taking the advice others have given you in this thread seriously. This may be closely linked with your CPPS/pelvic floor muscle spasm, as the muscles involved in urination and defecation work reflexively together. I would also stop thinking of your condition as 'Prostatitis', as the chances are the prostate is not the key source of your problems - the pelvic floor muscles are a much more likely candidate.and now I've got IBS to go with the prostatitis which is nice

This is further supported by the fact that the treatment for IBS and chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome is virtually the same (with regards to myofascial work).alprost wrote:This may be closely linked with your CPPS/pelvic floor muscle spasm, as the muscles involved in urination and defecation work reflexively together. IBS
I thought I had mild IBS for 10 years of my life. It never bothered me too much so I never thought much of it. Till the CPP/prostitis kicked in.
I watched my brother die of colon cancer a few months ago...and have the stress of a newborn. Sound familiar?
Do you sit a lot and/or drink a lot of pop/caffeine?
The 3 biggest helps for me were accpetance of CPP and a rejection of other more serious problems, no more caffeine or pop, and a comfortable seat cushion with the pelvic area cut out.
The more you know about your situation, the better you'll feel about it.
You have to force yourself to relax and stop worrying.
