So I have had this wonderful thing now since april. While I must say I am about 80% better than when this started I still have some irritating problems. I have had several 1-2 week periods where I have been 95-100% but then days where I have more problems like many of you I assume. Whats bothering me right now is this IC or not idea. Since September I have had on and off (sometimes stays for a day or two and then goes away for 2 days to 2 weeks) of a slight burning/irritation in my lower abdominal section. Just over the pubic bone. I have not noticed increased freqency while feeling it, just an irritation. Is this my bladder being inflamed (IC) or is it muscles/nerves acting weird you think? I dont wake up at night, nor have I found any specific food triggers. I go to the bathroom no more than 6-7 times a day and my bladder can hold plenty of urine (900CC). Even though I dont go that much I do have a frequency feeling (like a reminder) that the frequency is there. Hard to describe... This also comes on and off and can vary during the day/days. Apart from this I also have some left and right sided muscle "tightness" in my abdomin.
If anyone have similar or the same, please tell me how you are coping with it? Also if you have found any solutions for this, please yell.
I have been to Stanford and are doing relaxation, but no PT since no one knows how to do that here in Sweden. When I visited Dr Wise and his PT this "burning/irritation" dissapeard after PT for 2-3 weeks. I dont know if thats what "fixed" it then?
Confused, frustrated and just generally tired of this thing.
One thing that I have noticed is that since being home more (Xmas break) and thinking, dwelling in this I feel worse. I know I will work on that.
Thats all folks

I actually spoke to Tim Sawer today about the "burning" (The PT I visited in the US) and he said it is a common thing among chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome patients and its caused by muscles and nerves. Also spoke to Dr Wise and he said he had the same thing for 2 years on and off. Anyway, makes me feel a little better. Now I will go back to my relaxation and try not to dwell so bl..dy damn much.

After this I read a transcript of Dr Anderson on the IC boards I had not read before. In it he says this.
"The most common symptom in IC for men is the suprapubic pain."
I am thinking about maybe going to do a Cysto to figure this one out. I am so scared though. chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome might be bad but IC is the lifekiller
Any posts in this matter is greatly apriciated.

Paso, a lot of our symptoms can be found as symptoms of other conditions
The fact that Dr Wise and Tim Sawer confirmed to you that this symptom is a common one for chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome sufferers should really help allievate your IC concerns.
Is there a conclusive test for IC?
Richard.

Try not to let the anxiety make your symptoms worse.Paso wrote:I actually spoke to Tim Sawer today about the "burning" (The PT I visited in the US) and he said it is a common thing among chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome patients and its caused by muscles and nerves.
