still dont know
About six weeks ago I started noticing the same symptoms that most of the guys on this forum have! It started with a burning feeling on the tip of my penis, and yes loose clothing seems to make it worse.(ie boxers). what ia scary was that about six weeks before that I had had sex with a caual partner. Anyway I went to family practioner and he put me on antibiotics to treat a UTI such as chlamidia. These antibiotics didn't seem to do much but I did begin to feel better towards the end of ten day supply. But the burning came back and I was refered to a Uro. The Uro put me on ten days of Cipro, which I'm not to sure was either working for me physicaly or mentally. but soon after that supply of meds was done I slowly noticed the burning getting worse. A second Uro administered a prostate massage, which caused the pain in the tip of my penis to get worse for a short period of time. Is that normal? Also I noticed that it was rather uncomfortable for me to sit for the rest of the day. Is that normal? During the3 massage there was a rather unconfortable feeling and the Uro said that my prostate was a little sore. Now and then I notice this rectal itch that others have talked about too. Standing does seem to alleviate the pain. Could I have Prostitus? Is there any releif? so far all my urine tests have come up negative. I've had an ultrasound of my pelvic region which showed nothing. I am currently waiting the results of a couple of tests. if they come up negative the Uro wants me to start up on six weeks of Cipro. Any suggestions????

Sounds like a standard case of pelvic pain. Read the forum.

I dont have the frequent urge to urinate or at least when I do I am able to overcome it and hold it in, which generally makes the burning a little worse as time progresses. Is that normal?I was also wondering is it normal for the end of my penis to look different from what it used to??? (ie some days it has a dark red colour to it while others it has a light purplish colour to it)

Frequency is not a prerequisite for CPPS, and an inflamed urethral meatus (opening) is common.

This condition waxes and wanes unpredictably, so yes, it can go away on its own.
