Zyvox

Post by tacoma13 »

Since this is a new class of antibiotics, I'm surprised my search here couldn't find a single hit on it. I'm having one of THOSE weeks and thusly was motivated to do some internet research. The FDA is only recommending it for serious skin conditions, certain types of pnemonia, and antibiotic resistant bacteria, specifically Enterococcus faecium...at least this is what I can tell from a quick search. Just curious if any of the doctors would like to comment on Zyvox as a chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome treatment option.

I suggest you read this forum more carefully. New antibiotics are not the answer to this condition.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

If you have success with the drug please post it here.
I would be interested in reading it.
I am in the minority here - and am one of those using low dose long term antibiotics to keep my symptoms at bay (along with injections of a cocktail).

I would like to hear about your experience with the drug.

I agree the current evidence supports this opinion. In my own experience antibiotics didn't do a thing for me. However, I also know that some have been helped by antibiotics, whether it be from the actual antibiotic property of the drugs, or some ancilary effect like anti-inflamatory action. Perhaps new antibiotics could help in other ways not thought of yet. I just try to keep an open mind, and since the majority of the medical profession still wips out the Cipro or Doxy when CP type symptoms are present, I thought one of us might have some experience with Zyvox.
