celexa

Post by GS »

Does anyone have any experience with Celexa for CPPS. I went to a board certified internist for a complete physical and we got to discussing my chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome for which I have been receiving ongoing treatment by a urologist. Anyways, I explained that I had been taking valium and doing physical therapy and paradoxical relaxation as per Dr. Wise and have noticed some improvement. The internist suggested Celexa as a useful treatment for resistant cases. He reported one of his patients on it improved 60- 70% after all other treatments failed. I told him I would consider it but will continue with just Dr. Wise's protocol for now. I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this drug and what their impressions of it were. Any responses are welcomed. Thanks in advance.

SSRIs like Celexa are not really used to treat chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome - in fact, some say they make the discomfort worse.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

I've been taking Celexa for quite some time, as it is the only antidepressant I've found that controls my depression without too many adverse side effects. However, I am quite certain that it adversely affects my chronic pelvic pain, but I have found that to be the case with most antidepressants, and in fact, most drugs, including those I take to help control the pain.
