Antihistamines - side affect advice

Post by scotsman »

I've just started taking Ester C and 25mg of Atarax at night. However, when I wake in the morning I muscle ache all over, have the usual dry mouth and have a muggy headache.

Assuming these are normal antihistamines side effects does anyone know of anything that will lessen the effects?

Once I'm up and about the feelings ease a little within an hour but I do feel pretty bad when I wake and the rest of the day is spent with aching muscles and a muggy head.

Do these side affects ease at all? I assume they might even get worse if I increase the dosage to 50mg a day (if required).

Thanks.
Richard.

The side effects of Atarax fade somewhat within a week or two.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Atarax

Post by latte »

I am taking 50mgs at bedtime. When I first started last year I noticed a bit of grogginess upon getting up. This was while taking 25mgs. It only lasted a few days and then I had no apparent side effects. Just recently I upped it to 50mgs and the first couple days I was a bit groggy again but it only last maybe two or three days. Now I notice no effect upon awakening. Hope this helps.

I to take 50msg per day of Atarax. I have no sideeffects. If Atarax helps you, will the effect wear out eventually? Someone that knows?

I'm starting to think that I'm actually suffering from a virus - possibly the flu - and it's just a coincidence that I started the Atarax. The first couple days I didn't feel too bad on it - just the groggy feeling when waking - which passed quickly and it was only from day 3 onwards (since Saturday/Sunday) that I've been feeling awful.

I'll post later this week to say whether it's away, but it does seem/feel like the flu :(

Scotsman,

The good thibg about the flu is that it goes away in a week :)

Noticed any worsening in CP symptoms during the flu?

Paso - The CP sympoms have got a little worse, but that I feel is down to the lack of sleep I've had = increase in stress/tension.
