Antihistamine flare temporary?
I am in the middle of a huge flare up, my first a in a while, and it happened just five days after I started taking Allegra 180 for allergies. I see from this board that although Allegra is supposed to be prostate-friendly, it has caused men some problems. I stopped the Allegra almost a week ago now, and my prostate still hasn't settled down. Any thoughts? I hope I didn't insult my prostate and start another chain reaction. Should these symptoms go away when I stop the allegra or might it take time? Thanks.

Allegra in 180mg form is too strong if you have a Lower Urinary Tract (LUT) condition, IMO. I take 60mg twice a day, and when I started there was a small "pinching" feeling down below, but that soon faded. If I had used 180mg tabs, ouch!
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Thanks for the reply, webslave. Knowing that it will probably go back to normal after stopping the allegra is a relief. I knew in the back of my mind that antihistamines were linked to prostate problems - but my allergies were so bad, and my prostate had been under control for so long, that I simply forgot. Still, I wish my doctor had said something when he gave me the Allegra.
