getting better

Post by latte »

I have posted on several subjects on the forum but never on the success stories topic. After two years of pain and misery it seems to be improving. I had a pretty good stretch of time in June/July where it was better but then reverted back after one night of too much sex. I have increased the Atarax to 50mg/nite and done several heparin instillations where my uro told me pee it out in 15 minutes to reflux back into my prostate. I am not sure if this has had a direct effect but today I sit on my faithful donut cushion with no pain, no frequency, no backache. I have found that when my lower back hurts it helps to ice it. I never did that before but my wife suggested it and it seems to help the lower back and the pelvic pain. Hope the improvement lasts and I will let you guys know one way or another. There is hope!

Yes, I still take 600mgs of Elmiron a day along with 10mg of singulaire(sinuses and works great), 20mgs of imipramine, 50mgs of Atarax, and 0.4mg Flomax. I noticed an immediate improvement when I increases the Atarax from 25mg to 50mg per nite. It took a few days to get over the increases drowsiness but now I don't notice it. I also have been taking 4 prostaprotek per day for about six months. In one of Theoharides lectures he says that the Atarax works better at higher doses. I think he recommended 75mgs/day, that quite a bit.
Today I am still much better even after having sex last nite. Feels like a miracle. Maybe we just get better over time. It has been about two years now.

Latte, with all these meds, have you been diagnosed with IC? If so, how?
