Have you tried and had success with HPA-stimulating drugs?
Age: 41 Onset Age: 27 (dec 2006)Symptoms: Urethral burning, muscular pain and soreness around the base of my penis, perineum and muscles around my sitbones. Frequency, urgency, dribbling, general discomfort in the pelvis, decreased libido, tight levator ani (according to PT) and occasional levator- and sphincter spasms. Sometimes ache in penis, especially when erected. Latest addition is testicular pain (and epididymis). Also excretions of clear (prostatic?) fluid throughout the day as well as secretion in my urine. Varying power of urine stream. Redness on tip of penis and ballsack.Helped By: Positive thinking and controlling anxiety Worsened By: Stress, lack of sleep, heavy training (especially abs and legs), catastrophizing over this condition

These are for HPG I think mostly, they will not "work" well if you have HPA suppression or low cortisol levels, I tried some herbal testosterone boosting supplements and I got so nervous I couldn't relax for a single minute.

I am waiting to see to what extend my HPA recovers on its own (even if this mean an already awful 2 years of endless pain, inflammations, headaches and and slight stress susceptibility) and then consider such treatments because the initial problem was a steady drop in testosterone levels over the years after finasteride. I mean like my T levels went from 867 to 400 in 3-4 years time. I have many friends that tried such drugs like clomid, nolva and so after finasteride to get their libido mostly back in track but with very little success. The funny thing with finasteride is that it doesn't do what anabolics do, which is generally overshooting your T levels while depressing your gonadotrophins but it suppresses your whole HPG axis probably from the hypothalamus. So someone with previous LH/FSH levels of 5 to 6 is suddenly found to have levels of 1-2 while his T levels also are suppressed. We are talking about a total axis suppression. Very strange. I know people who lost their libido for even (5+ years) after finasteride and others who slightly managed to get better after a couple of years. Who knows, until the exact mechanism or the sort of mechanisms that finasteride acts upon, gets revealed we are just speculating and talking about numbers. Maybe the problem is higher in parts of our brains and we havent realized it yet, since there is proof that enzymes that are disrupted by finasteride are also extensively utilized in your CNS.

My experience with T-increasing drugs have been the quite opposite. I have tried both Nolvadex and Clomid, and the (slightly, we´re not talking AAS here) increased T-levels make me more calm. I had blood samples on one occasion before, during and 2 weeks after Clomid-use. It increased LH, FSH and hence Testo. It increased estradiol too, because of the higher testo and it aromatizing.

Maybe Clomid with an estrogenblocker (like A-dex) would be the perfect combination.

@S0b0T, I asked this same question in another thread...but why did you take finasteride? Was it for balding??? I'm strongly against finasteride or any drug similar like avodart for CP/CPPS/ucpps...Until I'm proven wrong, that drug is hell on earth for men with our condition...

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

This topic is interesting.... my pituitary gland was butchered by the surgery I had..... and slowly my pelvic problems started...
Age: 39 | Onset Age: 36 | Symptoms: constant urethral pressure like I always have to urinate, urethra pain, burning inside urethra or stinging in my penis tip, I lost my bladder sensations | Helped By: internal rectal therapy, gabapentin (this worked wonders for 10 months, sadly now it's useless no matter the dosage), hot baths, and even though I never had infections Levofloxacin helped me temporarily. Also Tibial TENS worked good for some time | Worsened By: ejaculation, foods (this only started to clearly affect me this year only, I think stress / anxiety even if sometimes I feel ok in period of stress and anxiety| Other comments: I have a bladder neck obstruction and a tense pelvic floor. Some doctors told me my prostate needs injections but I declined, others blame pudendal nerve and wanted to do a surgery (I declined this also). A top urologist from Spain said in his opinion is a painful bladder...
