Buttock and thigh pain/allodynia are certainly common. I myself have thigh burning and allodynia, especially when sitting for too long, and had similar butt pain at one time. Also, mirrored pain (when pain starts on one side of the body and then mirrors to the same area of the other part of the body) is common in neuropathic pain. Have you tried trigger point release of the piriformis for the butt pain? When I had it (it mimicked sciatica), TP release of the piriformis solved it. See this post for info on piriformis release.ThighguyCA wrote:Hi All,
Stressed to the max for the last 16 months over my infidelity. Burn in my penis is periodic, but what I have constantly is numbness, allodynia and a prickly feeling in my left buttock and now starting on my right. Both of my front thighs burn and I can feel my clothes on them. Coccyx goes numb from Anus to tailbone often. Even my left foot goes numb. Can't shake the Herpes thought, even though science says it won't cause chronic problems. I am on the cusp of a nervous breakdown because of this and my guilt. Does anyone suffer from these same symptoms?
The thigh burning may be from irritation of your lateral femoral cutaneous nerves or other femoral nerves. I haven't quite figured out my burning, so I can't advise on it.
Is the pain/allodynia constant, or does it worsen a lot with sitting? If so, you might consider getting a standing desk for work. That helped me a lot.
