Stressed to the max for the last 16 months over my infidelity. Burn in my penis is periodic, but what I have constantly is numbness, allodynia and a prickly feeling in my left buttock and now starting on my right. Both of my front thighs burn and I can feel my clothes on them. Coccyx goes numb from Anus to tailbone often. Even my left foot goes numb. Can't shake the Herpes thought, even though science says it won't cause chronic problems. I am on the cusp of a nervous breakdown because of this and my guilt. Does anyone suffer from these same symptoms?
Buttock and thigh pain/allodynia are certainly common. I myself have thigh burning and allodynia, especially when sitting for too long, and had similar butt pain at one time. Also, mirrored pain (when pain starts on one side of the body and then mirrors to the same area of the other part of the body) is common in neuropathic pain. Have you tried trigger point release of the piriformis for the butt pain? When I had it (it mimicked sciatica), TP release of the piriformis solved it. See this post for info on piriformis release.

The thigh burning may be from irritation of your lateral femoral cutaneous nerves or other femoral nerves. I haven't quite figured out my burning, so I can't advise on it.

Is the pain/allodynia constant, or does it worsen a lot with sitting? If so, you might consider getting a standing desk for work. That helped me a lot.

Thanks Caedar.

Part of my problem is the cycle of anxiety-pain-anxiety-pain. On days when I feel no pain (not very often) my mood is amazing and I feel on top of the world. If a get any kind of buzz, burn, tingle or pinch, I immediatly spiral into an obsessive anxious state about disease, hit the internet looking for diagnosis, cure etc.

I have severe OCD, HA and depression and it is a hell hole to get out of.

I am going to try the stretches you advised.

Today, I am feeling a little less pain, and a little more hope. Gonna try to maintain this all day.

Your mileage may vary, but I have found a lot of comfort and improved ability to counter the anxiety/pain cycle by practising mindfulness meditation and reading up on the philosophy of the Stoics.

OCD is an issue all unto itself. You should be treating this as you are treating your pelvic floor. Have you done anything for the OCD?

Hi Neue,

I am treating my OCD through MEDs right now and counselling. I was good for the last few weeks, then just this week, a small relapse in pain and BOOM, full OCD and then a lot of symptoms again

Hey, I just read your symptoms and I saw in your account that you have been online May 2019 which seems to me you still check in here from time to time. Mine started exactly like yours (guilt etc.) but I had ED and constant burning pain and couldn't sit at all. A year after I am now "healed". I still get the occasional tingle or after ejaculation discomfort but its like nothing to before. From stress and anxiety and sleep deprivation I developed tinnitus. I think its getting better. I remember being awake for like 6 weeks without much sleep when this started. I had hot and cold flashes and burning and tingling arms and legs. As well as severe burning pain. On top of that total confusion on what's going on and nor doctors or family taken me seriously. I often feel like my life is nothing what it used to be. Nightmares hunt me daily and I am envious of family and friends who are still enjoying their lives. I also totally underestimated the power of my mind and how resilient my body is. How are you doing right now? Are you better?
Age: 32| Onset Age: 30 | Symptoms: “Cured“ now, no symptoms. Symptoms were: 8/10 pain, couldn't sit, bleeding anus, ED, HF (tinnitus too from stress), Insomnia or CFS | Helped By: Stretching, foam roller, hot baths, sauna, tennis ball, antidepressants (acupuncture and fasting improved the tinnitus a lot) | Worsened By: stress, sitting, chronic masturbation but yeah mainly stress | Other comments:

Hey Neo, yes I am a lurker still!

My symptoms come and go, and to be honest with you, I haven't done much about it as far as PT or other things. One of the best things I did was confess to my wife this last year and she has been amazingly supportive. But I do think my chronic and severe stress may have left my body somewhat damaged with Central Sensitization and what my Dr. says may be Chronic Fatigue and/or Fibromyalgia. I do find when my mind goes back to my situation, my symptoms worsen, same with stressful situations, it seems to be worse. If I am distracted, walking, or 'enjoying' life, it seems ok. The mind is super powerful. The hard part is training your mind to be positive rather than negative.

I've read some of this thread, and glanced for key words through other parts. Anxiety. Yep. Guilt. Yep. Hyper-vigilance. Yep. Sounds like you're on the right track.

We are finding that very emotionally traumatic events, especially those that make us feel really badly about ourselves and guilty, are contributing to the "tail between the legs" chronic pelvic tightness. The sympathetic nervous system innervates across the same region as the pelvic plexus. All those enzymes that are released to the sympathetic NS also carry over to the peripheral nerves of the pelvic plexus and cause a chronic tightness. The more emotionally wound up to the extreme we are, the worse our pelvic pain.

It's much about signal pathways.

There are analogies on this forum about paths through the grass. Look up those threads and read them.

Chronic pain is horrible in any part of the body, but it is especially horrid when it decides to camp out in the pelvic region. There are a lot of sensitive nerves there.

If your symptoms are coming and going, that's a good sign that your system is on it's way to finding its way back to using the old original pathways for pain instead of the channels that are stuck on. You'll get there. Just keep distracting yourself with good stuff.

Fibromyalgia is probably not the case. That is extremely rare in men and it doesn't usually camp out in the pelvic region alone.

Any chronic pain condition also has and mimics symptoms of chronic fatigue. Pain is exhausting. Don't get all into that rabbit hole because it's not accurate. You have CPPS. Learn your strategies to manage it, convince yourself it's temporary, and strive every day to get a little closer back to a normal purpose driven life, and you'll be golden. Be patient. It can take some time to completely recover. But it DOES happen for SURE. I am proof, and so it Webslave, and many others.

Best, B.
