I can't believe it's been a year since I've posted, so I wanted to give an update( for those of you that want my complete story, check under success stories). As you can imagine since it's been so long since posting I'm doing great, though I hesitate to say "cured" (afraid I may jinx it). I still take my vitamin regimen and 1 Quercetin a day. I exercise and stretch 3-5x week and take valium 5mg and vistaril 50mg at bedtime(about 3x week) whenever I feel ANY tension in the perineal area( can't decide if this is psychological- but who cares?). I find the combo together works better than either alone. I rarely ever take or need pain meds. I am living a full normal life and can do everything I did before the CPPS. There are a few things that cause mini flareups. First if I get any kind of cold or flu the prostate aches. Next if I don't stretch for over a week. Finally I have numerous problems with my teeth( crowns, root canals, extractions and cracks) and whenever I have a problem with one the chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome flares. In fact once the chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome flared up even with no apparent tooth problem and I hounded my dentist until he found the problem, fixed the tooth and the chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome went away. So I've come to see my prostate as my bodies early warning system.
In closing going through the prostate problem has brought me more in tune with my body and myself and has made me a better and happier person than otherwise. I wish all of you good luck, keep a positive attitude and never, ever give up!
