Hi everyone!
I just came from the docs before and I want to tell you what he said and get some comments maybe?
I have been more possitive latley, as I stated under my post where I said I have been able to play basketball and when I do, I am symptom free.
Just came back from a 3 hour session, and there is no pain no having to pee, nothing!
Anyway, everyone has told me this is just a stress reaction with my muscles (especially after reviewing my history) and I just decided to go to this doctor one more time to talk to him and have a check up.
This doctor is really good ican tell, and he sat down for 45 minutes !! and talked to me and examined me thoroughly.
He went through my old tests, everything and he said, Daniel, you know what there is nothing wrong in your body, I know you feel it but it is due to a reaction to stress and your symptoms are from tension.
You have a weaker stream from tension too it constrics the flow.
The cystoscopy was normal, the cystometry shows your bladder is normal, the MRI shows there are no abnormalities and you have even had the NO test, which you are lucky to have since we are world leading in the field, and that ruled out any inflammatory condition in the bladder and tract since your levels where so low.
Then he proceeded to examine the penis ccause I told him yet again about the redness and he looked for a long time and said, well there certainly isn't any inflammation here. The skin is redder and different but not far from normal you shouldnt worry about this, this is just from blood flow, like when your face is blushing.
When muscles are tense, they constric bloodflow, thats why it can come and go and casue oversensitivity. Its also possible it got scracthed in the past, these things can take time to heal up completely.
Then he examined me through the rectum for maybe 15 minutes, and he felt the prostate and said it is completely normal, he pressed on it hard and it didn't hurt one bit.
He reviewd the history and said that it was never sore in the first place.
The he proceeded to feel in other areas in there, and some where hurting a little bit.
Afterwards we sat down again, he explained that the prostate is perfect, its not sore no nothing.
He said he can feel that the muscles in the region are very tense. He said he could feel them being way tenser then they should, but he said that is all there is.
It can cause these pains and the frequency and discomfort you have he said.
He told me I really need to relax and that now I am FULLY checked and there is nothign physically wrong, besides the tension which is just the bodies reaction to stress. Stress can kill you he said.
He says playing basketball is good cause it starts the bloodflow and produces endorphines (sp?).
He also mentioned other doctors who hear the symptoms and jus tpump you full with antibiotics for months and months even if you dont get better and he said that is just bogus and quacks who do that according to him.
He basically told me I seemed to have matured since I first saw him, more accepting that it is a stress condition and that that is good.
According to him, once I get this out of my head and try to go on with my life it will go away for sure cause its just tension.
He said that usually he prescribes pills that relax the muscles in the region a bit, but since I am a bit over 6'6" that isn't a good idea he said cause it can make you very dizzy.
So all in all, I was very relieved when I left the hospital.
I have seen doctors who put their finger in you for 20 seconds, talk to you for 2 mintes then send you home.
This is what I needed and now I am certain I will be okay:)
He says I just have to keep going to my physiotherapist who is streching the ligaments in that area and keep relaxing and enjoying myself as much as I can.
So I am going to keep playing basketball, and I am taking a 2 week vacation heading to the mediterranean sea with my fiancee :)
I am certian now I will be just fine:)
Thank you for listening, doesnt this doctor sound like a good one?
Heres what the doctor had to say

Excellent interview with a kind, caring and intelligent doctor, Daniel! You are lucky to find one like that.

Yes I realize I am lucky enough to have found him, after going through 3 crappy Urologists...
2 didn't care, one did but didn't really know anything.
The first two just threw me antibiotics and then more and more of them.
The second one didn't do anything, he just talked and talked about inflammations and whatnot.
Then this guy came along and he talks about the kind of thing you read on these boards, a guy who knows
He is the one who has made me finally be sure nothing is wrong but tension and that itself, is great:)
The medicine he talked about (that you shouldnt take if your tall cause you get dizzy), I didn't ask, but did he mean Flomax?

Probably. Alpha blockers like Flomax fit the description of relaxing smooth muscle with dizzyness as a possible side effect. They can lower your blood pressure slightly - especially older types like Prazosin. The medicine he talked about (that you shouldnt take if your tall cause you get dizzy), I didn't ask, but did he mean Flomax?
6'6" eh? Best avoid unnecessary G-force too

Hehe yeah:)
Well I figured it was Flomax, was on it for about a month didn't really do much..eventhough a month isn't very long.
Anyway, I am still playing basketball fulltime now, I signed all the paperwork today so I am back, which feels SO great...it does.
Practiced today for 3 hours again Nothing. I havent goneto the washroom in 5 hours.
I have gone TWO times today, I woke up at like 10, peed, finished some stuff up at my old job, came home had supper, peed before I went to practice at 6:30
Its now Midnight and I havent peed since then (I do have to pee really bad
)
So I dont know
I am able to hold it in, eventhough I feel that nagging discomfort all the time, cause thats all there is really no pains really.
I thikn basketball is what will save me, I have only had 3 practices and it makes my mind feels so relaxed which is what I need:)
I am confident in a while, I will be able to write a success story:)
Oh about the donation you can count on it:)
I am very open about this problem, I dont feel its anything to be ashamed off, its just tension what I have and I tell my friends, coaches everything.
Attention needs to be put on this.
I had two liters of coke after practice yesterday, didn't affectm e one bit either:)
I think, like my fiancee said to me months ago (I shoud listen to her), that you have to ACCEPT that you have this...then and only then, can you make it go away by relaxing and following protocols if you neeed to.
Thanks everyone :)
I just..I am amazed that I have NO problems at all wheni play, I am SYMPTOM FREE for those 3 hours. Wow. If that isn't proof that its tenstion I dont know what is;)
See ya

I've been doing more and more 'sports' recently. Mountain boarding and skateboarding to be precise. Don't laugh. Some kind of early mid-life crisis I know (as well as quitting my job it kind of adds up).
It struck me today that while I am out and about, focussed on not slamming hard, I don't get chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptoms. I don't want to urinate frequently - despite glugging bottles of Coke - I don't have pain.
What crystalised this is that now, hours after I finished up (achilles tendons starting to go) I have just had the most satisfying urination of the past two and a half years.
I'm only able to get out there and do things because I feel better than I did; but what an extra difference getting out there makes

Or rather, what I don't need.

Glad to hear:)
Yeah I still have my problems when I am just sitting around doing nothing or whatever...its still the same that on the court I am free of everything its odd.
I am however certain I will get better now and that has changed my outlook on things!:)
I practice 5 times a week now, no problems.
I try doing what I want to do, and it seems to work casue at least I am feeling happier and tahts what I need.
Bball is great though, cause it gives me the relief I needed to realize its just stress and tension:)
Cheers!
