When the bladder gets really full

Post by Paso »

Guys,

When my bladder gets really full (1000CC) it starts to hurt. Is that normal? I dont get this unless its really full. So if I have 700 or 800 no problems, but after that it starts hurting. Not super painful, but it certainly feels stretched. What do you say?

The average bladder capacity for a healthy adult is 350-550 cc. When the bladder is filled with 1,000 cc of liquid, it is normal to feel pain.
This is not medical advice. Please consult your physician.

350-550cc, I just realised I must have a big bladder. I do 650-850 CC all the time. And if I go for a while I can do all the way up to 1100CC. Strange.

I agree with mast Cells - I'd imagine that as your bladder is so full when you have to urinate, that this is probably a good sign re. the urinary frequency aspect of your condition.

You really need to get yourself a new hobby though Partick
This is not Medical advice - Consult your Doctor!

Age:39. Age at onset:31. Symptoms prior to treatment: Golf ball in rectum, severe urinary frequency (2-3x/hr; 5-10x/night); weak stream; painful ejaculation; coccygeal pain; tip of penis pain; general pelvic pain on left; testicular pain; supra-pubic pain. Current | Symptoms: Urinary frequency 1x every 2-3 hrs and 1-2 x a night; mild pelvic pain on left hand side (all symptoms still improving!)
Helped by: Trigger point release; avoiding exercise; pelvic floor relaxation; Neurontin decreased bladder sensitivity somewhat. Worsened by: Exercise; frequent ejaculation; ibuprofen irritates bladder. Made no difference: Diet; biofeedback; quercetin; Steroid anti-inflammatories; Elavil.

****UPDATE*** I am now able to sit again at work all day, and can perform moderate aerobic exersise again for the first time in 8 years!!!

Patrick, what kind of measuring cup do you use? It's got to be super-sized! A standard one holds only 250 ml - so you need at least 4 cups to handle your output - and 3 hands for the job! Your bathroom trips must be fun! :-D

BTW, the numbers I have are this: you start wanting to go at around 250-300 ml, and at around 800-900 ml you're near bursting point.

So I think your cup has truly runneth over!

Just don't use it again for cooking, OK?

LOL, I use a big cup that I have. It holds 1000cc. And yes I will stop with this now. Sorry for my intimate information.

Not at all! Personally I think it's great - and useful - to learn this kind of stuff from others (and have a fun thread once in a while!). Besides, it's too late - I'm afraid you've already put an idea into my head... :-D
