RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MUSCLE SPASM AND NERVE SPASMS ?

Post by ZR »

Quick history before some questions I hope can be answered. Problems started in jan 2003 with burning at tip of my penis, and frequent urination with large amounts of urine each time, and the feeling that I still need to go just after I had went. Other problems would happen over time like a tight feeling in my rectum, when sitting for long periods pain in penis and at tip and a increase in need to urinate, pain is the worst in the penis when haveing a bowel movement and right after usually I needed to urinate not long after, pain in scrotum and testicles but mostly in the penis is my pain. From feb 03 to feb 04 had DRE had cultures had ct scan had scrotum scan had cystoscope all negative was on LEVAQUIN, DOXYCLINE, Cipro, Flomax, DETROL LA, PAXIL. Only thing that helped was detrol and paxil at the same time for six months from june 03 to jan 04 and Kegel exercises from sept to dec. At the beggining of jan 04 I had improved so much I stopped exercises and all medicane except for a swelling testicle and I took Cipro from jan 04 to feb 04 no big deal thought.
Middle of march all my problems came back after a masterbation and a ejaculation which I never had a problem with before. Now all my problems have came back with a few new ones like a discomfort after ejaculation and a pain in my penis when I have a erection that makes me have to pee.
Just want to see my fourth doctor that also deals with IC sayes he think it can be nervous and muscle problems. Gave me a pelvic examantion boy did that hurt sayes the pelvic floor is very tender but sayes it does not seem to be shortened sayes and is the normal lenght. Gave me NEUROTIN TO TAKE AND SEE HOW IT DOES.

QUESTIONS
Could a flare really last for a month since I got much better the last few months? Does any one know if these problems could be IC related since I did not have a cysto with hydrostation and if my problems do not get better he plans to do this which could make things worse? The one problem I have the main problem is large amounts of urine not decreased flow which is what most people have in here is that normal?
Can nerve problems and muscle problems work hand and hand and cause my problems? How about a PUENDAL NERVE problem which my latest doctor has questioned? I can not find any doctor or theripist to do internal myfosical trigger point therapy I have called four most think this would be even more painful and troubling one does it but just on woman which is easier to do? Just got HEADACHE IN THE PELVIS what exercises can I do and how many times a day? How good is DR WISE about answering questions I thought I might email him about the exercises and if he could help me find a theripst in my area who does the therapy talked about in the book?
ANY HELP I CAN GET WOULD BE GREAT AS YOU CAN SEE I WANT ANSWERS AND TO BE PUT ON THE RIGHT TRACK AFTER ALMOST A YEAR AND A HALF OF HAVING THIS PROBLEM. THANK YOU

If you are urinating large amounts very frequently, make sure you are tested for diabetes.

Flares can last for days to years.

Yes, you could have IC-flavor pelvic pain, but getting that diagnosis instead of "prostatitis" doesn't make much difference, since the treatments are virtually the same.

Pudendal nerve problems are waaaay overdiagnosed. Do you have pain on sitting, relieved by standing up?
