My horrible, but interesting weekend
Hey guy's. I think this is an important story to share with you. I have had CP, chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome for over three years, I have had my up's and down's. But never have I been symptom free. Meaning.. just like the day's before this all started. On saturday morning, I woke up around 5:30. I was hungry, and decided I didn't like what was in the fridge. So I went to kroger's to munch out. On my return home I discovered my house was on fire. The water heater had blown. I stupidly, entered the house to try and save some item's, in wich I almost payed for with my life from smoke inhaleation. I did make it out fine, but I have no renter's insurance, so I have lost everything I own except my laptop, wich was in the car. The last few day's I have been in a fog, not sure all this is real yet. Today, I realized that for the last few day's I have no CP chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptom's... I mean not one. Urine, pain in perineum, erection, all are 100%.... I have been so wondering what I am going to do.. that for once I have not given CP one thought in the last few day's, And that never happen's... This has me wondering.... Usually, stress will cause a flare up but not in this case? in a tragedy I am symptom free... Makes no sence huh? I imagine it will come back, but just a thought for everyone here lookin for the answers... I lost my Whole life in twenty minute's, and cp,CPPS no longer was important........

Really sorry to read your story
what a weekend!
Very interesting re the chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptoms - it's as if the mind has prioritised. Let us know if/when the symptoms come back.
Hope things start working out for you this week.
Richard.

one day...
Hey Scott's thank's for caring. My symptom's are back already. I'm not depressed, or anything I knew they would. And I also know that they will get better again. Knowing that is half the battle I think.... Here's what I do now though... The mind, is a powerful friend, or our worst enemy. I have found in the past that if I can get my mind off this I seem to do a lot better. I have never been symptom free though. thats what was so strange. I'm not in pain, just.... well thing's are different, not bad, just different... dont know how to explain it, but anyone who has had this know what I'm talking about. My syptom's will come, and go. My particular case has gotten progressively bettter since the begining.. No real pain to speak of these day's. just same ol libido, erection unpredictability, and general tight feeling in the area. Thanx for caring like I said. and I will report back later

One day..., I'm really sorry to hear about your personal tragedy. I hope you're holding up OK.
If only we could will ourselves to do that all the time!
Again, please accept my sympathies. Best of luck to you!
I don't know if you believe in fate or destiny or that kind of thing, but it sure sounds like something drove from that house just in time. You probably don't feel lucky exactly, but had you been sleeping normally, you might never have made it out at all!i woke up around 5:30. I was hungry, and decided I didn't like what was in the fridge. So I went to kroger's to munch out. On my return home I discovered my house was on fire. The water heater had blown.
I have to say that when my mind is consumed by something, all symptoms recede as well - no urinary urgency, no noticeable pain & so on. On some days, during certain times, I completely forget I have my problem for hours at a time - but only when I'm working with someone else & completely focused on that other person or our work. It's certainly not the same as going through a life-shattering event, but I think it does show that focusing one's mind away from the problem can be an extremely effective form of treatment.Today, I realized that for the last few day's I have no CP chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptom's... I mean not one. Urine, pain in perineum, erection, all are 100%
If only we could will ourselves to do that all the time!
Again, please accept my sympathies. Best of luck to you!

I completely agree - accepting it's going to wax and wane and not getting down when it comes back is more than half the battle.one day... wrote:My symptom's are back already.
