Cyclobenzaprine is the generic name for Flexeril, which is, as you say, a muscle relaxer. I do not believe it is an antihistimine:

However, I am curious if anyone has had success with it

MS, I have a prescription for Flexoril at home and I have taken it a few times. It does definitely relax me and seems to help. When I take it I usually lie down and my symptoms are always better when I lie down anyway. The Flexoril is rather pleasureable and doesn't seem to have side effects that I could document.

Latte,

Me to are experiencing virtually no symptoms when lying down or in the mornings. Why do you think thats the case? Also did you ever get diagnosed with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome or IC?

Paso, I play in a band and ironically our keyboard player also has CPPS. I always ask him how he is feeling and he says, "as long as I don't pee, have sex or sit too long I feel OK". I feel that way too but when it burns and hurts if I lie down or sit in the spa for awhile I always feel better. When I get up in the morning I feel normal until I pee, then my butt starts to ache. Whether I have chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome or IC is a matter of intense discussion in the medical community as we have discussed. I think I have an IC process in my prostate. Sometimes I feel better but it never really goes away.

My symptoms are greatly reduced by laying down and also by swimming. I also have a herniated disk at L4 so I guess that getting myself Horizontal probably stops the pinching of nerves or something along those lines.

Latte, I am starting Flexeril for muscle spasms today (5 mg as needed, up to T.I.D)

Hopefully, I'll find out soon.

I have an L4-5 also. Swimming is about the only exercise I can do these days.
