muscle twitching
I've had undulating chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptoms for 3 months, but I'm having good luck resolving these gradually with a range of extra-clinical measures. However, about a month after first chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptoms, I began to experience muscle twitching - involutary single contractions of small areas of muscle tissue, anywhere in the body. For several weeks this was infrequent but now it happens maybe 100-300 times a day. The rate is reduced when I am relaxed, but it still occours, more sparsely, when I am most relaxed - even when I am in meditation of a clearly consciousness-altering depth. Also I experience a rapid flurry of tiny-breadth, tiny-amplitude twitches in the leg muscles when I sit down after a long walk. Scullcap and valerian have helped but only by 50%. I will see a doctor within a few days, but does anyone know of a connection to CPPS?

Thanks for your help paso. I was able to get a handle on this problem soon after my above post. I noted the twitches seemed to occour most often during negative ideation, so basically I used a few days of focused relaxation - meditating a lot and loafing around, having some of the sedative teas named above, and putting off all thinking about anything unpleasant. That got me a 50% abatement in twitching, which spurred optimism on the matter, and I kept going down from there, with progress noticable week by week for a month, and I am now totally normal on this front. I also added a multivitamin containing the usual B vitamins, and sublingual B12, just on my vague understanding of their role in neural health.
