Hey all,
I'm new here. In July after taking some legal prohormones and then ephedrine I came down with a burning upon peeing and in the perineum. Went to family doc, said it sounded like prostatitis and gave me Cipro for 20 days. didn't work, went back, was given levaquin for 20 more, didn't work. Went to urologist, urine sample turned up no bacteria, DRE was taken and said I had a lot of inflammation. Was put on more levaquin, nothing. Went back 5 weeks later and a DRE was performed, then I had to pee, then the pee was sent out. That came back negative. More levaquin, but this time I added ProsPlex by Olmpian labs and the perineum pain went away. But, in its place I was left with a new pain in the rectum, by the tailbone when sitting. I still had urination burning. I then added extra quercetin to the prosplex which already had quercetin in it and the pain in the rectum seemd to go away for abotu 3 weeks. I finally quit ABs as they werent helping. One week later awoke at night with pain in left testicle, but that pain was never at anytime worse than that night, it has slowly faded, not much there now. My symptoms now are burning when urinate, and even a bit a discomfort once I walk away, slight burning off and on in the tailbone and sometimes a weird spasm or quiver in that general area, but I remember having these a year before all this broke out. Does that mean anything? So I guess it could be worse. I've cut out caffeine, alcohol...and I never did eat wheat bread, I dont eat any breads..I competitiely bodybuild and bread isn't something I eat. SO the diet end is taken care of, I also supplment with flax oil for EFAs. The quercetin seems to work some, and I am also taking beta-sit. I also take one sitz bath a day and massage the pelviv area, oddly enough after these baths I normally have cessation of ALL symptoms for about 45 minutes. But they return. Does this give reason to believe my case may be muscle related???
My question is this, since I was on a prohormone before the ephedrine I think my HPTA was somewhat out of whack, I know, I won't mess with my hormones ever again. Then I took an alpha antogonist, ephedrine, and then the symptoms resulted. I'm thinking I might have sparked some sort of auto immune issue after glancing at a paper I found through this site. I read tonight about alpha blockers, but I have no way of obtaining them, nor could I tell which are the best. And I here of some weird side effects from Flomax. Given my symptoms and history would anyone recommend one over the other? I also see where some get relief from antihistamines and others are bothered, I'm still confused on that one, and I read almost all the posts. Dont know if they are right for me or not. I see Claritin may not cause the urination issues, but isn't as effective? Also the paper said that glucocorticoids may help in auto immune issues, I assume chondroitin and glucosamine are such substances? Please confirm.
Okay thats my story...one last thing does the book Headache in the Pelvis describe how to massage oneself for pelvic floor tension. Due to the spasms and burning in the tailbone I'm thinking I may have a tight pelvic floor as well.
Please help if you can.

The archives of the Google newsgroup are full of posts from people who link ephedrine to the onset of their CPPS. I'd avoid ephedrine and similar stimulants like the plague.scoobysnacks wrote:I'm new here. Go to a urologist and ask about trying Uroxatral (alfuzosin). It's worth trying, IMO.I read tonight about alpha blockers, but I have no way of obtaining them, nor could I tell which are the best. No, it doesn't.does the book Headache in the Pelvis describe how to massage oneself for pelvic floor tension.
This is not medical advice. Please consult your physician.
