The more I think about it after posting the above, it probably is improving, but slowly and it’s harder to notice. I’m probably just seeking reassurance that it will take time.

It takes time. I'm five years into this bout and it's definitely improved year on year. It's not a linear process, though, however the good periods are better and longer and the not so good ones generally shorter and less problematic as time goes by.
Age 56: Onset 2006 and bouts on and off since then. See posts for details.

Thanks for the reply. That’s reassuring

Now that you’ve mentioned it I do remember seeing a graph Webslave posted which addresses that aspect of things. That each time it gets worse, it’s less worse than the last time. I think I’m remembering that correctly anyway.

Suppose I can contribute by logging updates on here as to how things go for me with this flare.

So, I went to the gym yesterday and used the cross trainer (15 mins) and treatmill (10 mins walk). No issues and had an ok evening.

I woke up at 3am with some discomfort / pain. Nothing too major but that’s not really happened before with a flare. If I’m sleeping I’m usually able to sleep on through till morning. I had to take a diazepam for the discomfort and to get back to sleep

I thought perhaps going to the gym had done something, but I don’t think so. Could be wrong.

Maybe I was in an awkward position or had a troubling dream. Not been too bad today overall but issues are still present.

Have ordered Magnesium to be delivered tomorrow to add to the arsenal. Have never tried using that for CPPS.

The magnesium will be added to the Duloextine, PEA, Quercetin and Graminex I’m currently taking.

Can anyone tell me if it is preferable to use Quercetin Dihydrate? The Solgar brand i am using doesn’t appear to be Dihydrate and i wanted to check in about this as i read it is more bioavailable. Couldn’t see anything about it in the FAQ here for Quercetin.

I only noticed when looking back at the ingredients of the Prostate PQ I used to take, as that one is Dihydrate.

I have only just bought another jar of the Solgar one for when this one runs out  lol

I did notice when i started Solgar brand that it was 500mg Quercetin whereas the PQ one was 250mg. So I’ve just been taking 250mg of the Solgar until today. I can either up it to 500mg or just pick up a Dihydrate one?

Re: Magnesium…

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30381673/

This article suggests that taking Magnesium Oxide reduces the absorption / effectiveness of the anti anxiety meds I take (Duloxetine). Anecdotally I noticed a couple of moments of anxiety (one yesterday and one today). I don’t usually get any anxiety at all on my meds so this may track. That reaction caused a bit of additional pain to come on which is obviously counter productive. I do understand that the Magnesium I'm taking is bisglycinate, not oxide, but it’s enough to convince me to stop taking it. Particularly as I take a lower dose of Duloxetine than the normal therapeutic dose (I must be particularly sensitive to it as it works well for me).

So for now I’m Duloxetine, Quercetin (picked up the Dihydrate form), Graminex, and PEA.

Re: Anyone have Hyperactive Testicles?

It’s been a month of this flare now. At present I’m doing fine through the day. No real symptoms to speak of. However…

Once I’m home from work and I’m either on the couch or lying in bed on iPad etc, perineal and/or buttock symptoms start. I could be out and about in the evening and there will be no symptoms, but as soon as I’m home and relaxing on the couch or in bed it kicks in.

Is there anything else I should be doing specifically that I’m missing here? I suppose what I'm taking away from this is the a suspicion that there is a specific muscle area I should be looking at stretching / lengthening which may be causing this? Any views or insights on this?

Decided to try using a tennis ball on my perineum. Big mistake. Flared things up.

Hope Webslave is ok. He’s not been seen on here for a month. That’s a bit out of the ordinary for him is it not? Hope he’s not had a bad flare. I’m sure he’s not had any symptoms for many years.

Hi, I've been on a month-long trip through the US, a vacation if you will. Even I need to take breaks! 😉

Tennis ball on perineum will probably goose old trigger points and could flare you up. It points to a hypertonic pelvic floor, so there's your diagnosis! 👍

Good I’m glad you are ok. Hope the trip was a success!

Admin comment: It was! I had a great time. Took hundreds of photos of places of natural beauty. 👌

So i’m still in this flare. But I think I’m improving, albeit very slowly (as I’ve seen mentioned here before).

I don’t really have ‘pain’ per se. In fact during the day there’s very little going on at all.

I can sit in work all day and be comfortable there, fortunately.

In the evening when I lie or sit in bed there’s mild tension or stiffness in my buttocks / perineum. Other than that I’m ok. But I know I’m not there yet and still need to be mindful / careful

I guess my question today is…Should I just be waiting it out now, keep doing stretches and belly breathing, but lay off the wand?

The last time I used the wand it caused a me a set-back. It’s been a week or two since then and I’m hoping that the fact I do feel some improvement without using it means I can go without it from here on out?

Thank you.

^ sorry, in addition to the lying / sitting in bed bit, there’s a little electricity type stuff then. Very mild though.

Admin comment: The "electricity type stuff" are fasciculations, a sign of hypertonic pelvic floor. I would proceed with wand work, but very gently and slowly, and often.
