I have basically fixed my CPPS, and a huge part was getting my diet straight, especially early on. After seeing how much influence my diet had on my wellbeing, I have spent a lot of time trying to learn more about it. The more I learn, the less I feel that we really know, with all the different diet advocates out there.
I generally stay on a high carb, low fat diet and I feel ok on that. Very little animal protein, lots of beans, fruit, veg etc. However, I have tried periods of low carb, high fat diets (aka keto) and had mixed results. On one hand, my hunger stays very low, I stay lean very easily while maintaing muscle, I have more energy, and my brain seem to be a bit quicker. Unfortunately, after a few days of eating animal fats again I start to feel an increase in inflammation all over (joints, pelvis etc) that eventually forces me to stop.
Has anyone else had similar experiences? I would guess that most people here would lean towards the high carb/vegan camp but am curious.

It's been proved scientifically that high animal protein diets increase inflammation, so much so that I changed to a vegan diet myself and I feel better now than I ever have. My painful joints are no longer painful.

I have seen the same information. What do you think about others, like the Paul Saladino and Mark Sisson types? They also seem well researched to me (given I have little nutrition background and am not a doctor). Are they just quacks or does it just come down to everyone is different and reacts differently to different foods? I generally just take the n=1 approach and do what works for me, but I will say that I would love to continue with the benefits I experience on keto if not for the inflammation it causes..

Saladino quit his meat-only diet in December 2023 when he had a health problem. Sisson is just a nobody with lots of opinions.
