Looking to replicate unavailable Farr Labs product

Post by JloCal »

Hello All,
I am a long-time sufferer, who was treated by Dr. Shoskes when he was still at UCLA. I have had really excellent results for nearly 20 years with a combination of internal massage, tamsulosin, and the ProstaQ supplement made by Farr labs. As you may or may not know, that supplement is unavailable currently. I've tried their other similar products, and they don't work nearly as well. I've started experiencing increased burning, incomplete voiding, weak stream etc. since I stopped the ProstaQ last week.

I've been rather frantically trying to purchase the individual ingredients (Quercetin, Cranberry, Saw Palmetto, zinc, Bromeliad, Papain), but they are not doing the trick. I've tried Quercetin dehydrate and Quercetin phytosome, again without the same improvement.

Does anyone happen to know of any other sources of ProstaQ, or can offer some ideas as to why the individual ingredients don't seem to work as well as the combination supplement?

Thanks for your help,
Jerry

Jerry I had very good results with generic quercetin from Twinlab over 20 years ago, before Farr Labs got involved (Shoskes was financially linked to Farr Labs). I haven't taken it for almost 20 years now. All I can suggest is that you try various brands of good quality quercetin from some of the most reliable companies. Unfortunately some brands are supplying capsules with very little quercetin, much less than the stated amount.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've found that quercetin dihydrate (vs regular quercetin) causes more prostate irritation for me. I tried several manufacturers, and am using 250mg of quercetin tid. It doesn't work as well as ProstaQ, but I see some improvement. Triurol, inc actually licensed Farr labs to make ProstaQ, and Farr just lost the exclusive right in bankruptcy court. So, perhaps they will contact with another lab soon.

I think Prostaq was also using Quercetin from Quercetin Dihydrate. Their bladder product before listed as quercetin dihydrate. I think a lot of companies only list it as quercetin but it is still from quercetin dihydrate. I would try other products as long as I can return for a refund in case it does not work out. Hope you find some relief soon.
