Yellow Semen Question

Post by bti20 »

Is it true that yellow sperm is an indicator of inflammation?

I have noticed this symptom once or twice over the last few weeks and it has confused me - because I haven't had it since way back at the beginning (2 years ago).

Have you started quercetin lately? Quercetin can cause yellowish sperm for a short period, in my opinion because it allows a release of backed-up inflamed secretions from the prostate.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

I have this symptom sometimes myself. Started after begining Quercetin.

Then again I have had bad retrograde ejaculation for the past few weeks so I couldn't tell you what the current status is.

If I remember correctly retrograde ejac is when some of the semen spills back into the bladder during ejaculation. Common side effect of Flomax.

Although I definitely agree that there is much truth to this, since my semen was VERY yellow after starting quercetin. AND, at times where I started feeling a significant benefit from quercetin, my semen has been very yellow.

HOWEVER, since starting quercetin over 8 months ago, my semen has never returned to it's original colour. Also, my teeth have become more yellowy, which is a sign that my saliva may also be yellowy. I believe that this is from the quercetin itself.

You may be right, since quercetin is a component in some vegetable dyes. However, I have not noticed the yellow color persisting in my own body, and I think you are the first to comment on it being persistent. Are you taking a very high doses? Do you have 5 or 6 quercetin-free resting days, which I advise, every few weeks?

I only take 2 tablets of any accredited quercetin product per day. I don't take a resting period however. At some point I'll try that.

Re: Yellow Semen Question

Dear

I new to this forum, and found it because of this Quercetin Yellow sperm topic.

I noticed yellow sperm always after taking some Quercetin Pills. It become yellow just after approx half an hour after the intake of the Quercetin Pills.
The yellow colour may disappear on next day, without Quercetin intake.

I am struggle now two years against pain in the urethra sphincter area. Doctors where doing one year a lot of research (lab tests), abdomen CT and IMR, with no helping data output.

At the end they prescribed me a healthy lifestyle and healthy nutrition, but without solution for my pain.

Any info who can help will be appreciated...

Thanks

Re: Yellow Semen Question

Quercetin causes yellow sperm through 2 possible avenues:
  1. It is an anti-inflammatory that helps to open up prostatic ducts and release sequestered (trapped) prostatic fluids that are full of leukocytes (pus cells)
  2. Quercetin is a yellow dye.
Science has not definitively answered this one yet!

There is another science link about Quercetin:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28167483/

Admin comment: that's a paper about adding high concentrations of Q. to sperm in a test tube. It's not something that happens in your body. If you are not scientifically trained, be cautious reading study abstracts on PubMed because it can become confusing.
