I've seen a lot of talk on this site about standing desks and donut cushions, but I just want to add another option that personally has helped me. I tried a standing desk to avoid sitting but found that standing all day was really hard on my hips and led to me sitting more than stand anyway. I looked for another solution and found what they call "standing chairs/perching stools."
Perching chairs and standing chairs like the one below allow you to not have to sit, but doesn't require you to stand without support all day. Currently using one with good results. It doesn't put any pressure on the perineum while perching or standing, and isn't as rough on the joints! Also, there are some new studies that this posture is best for spinal health.
Give it a try if donuts haven't been effective at reducing sitting pain!
