So, even with the shear strips band-aids, if I try to remove them very shortly after applying them (say, within 30 minutes) it is difficult to remove as you described. The only recourse is to do what you did and remove it in the shower under the running water. For some reason, after 30 mins or so (and certainly after 45 minutes or an hour) the shear strips become exponentially more easy to remove (so easy you'll think it won't re-stick but it does!). I'm not sure why this is the case. Other band-aids I tried did behave somewhat differently. I believe it was a cloth type brand I tried which was too difficult to remove even after time went by. Another (I believe it was a more rigid plastic one) i tried worked well for the first pee or two but did not re-stick throughout the day. And, I'm sure there is an element of "practice makes perfect" as with anything else. For me, after 7 years the routine is 100% automatic, I don't even think about it. I always take a shower in the morning. After the shower and completely drying off I make sure to pee, even if I don't really feel like I "have to pee" I get out anything I can (and be sure the area is 100% dry) before applying the band-aid. This assures that, but the time I need to pee again it will be easy to remove.
I am hopeful that you will continue to explore this, hopefully you can find a web site or something to ship the sheer strips version or perhaps try a few different ones that are available to you. Shoot, push comes to shove I'll ship you some myself
