prostatitis since may HELP

Post by Force 6 »

HI all,

I have had the what I believe to be prostatitis since May 2018.

The story so far age 45, oral sex with a night pick up from bar. Following day burning sensation and urgency to pee no aching just some tingling on thighs and nuts. Went to see URO like 10 times (had several blood and water test all show negative/ CT scan ultrasound all normal prostate is 20g normal tested for full STIs nothing)

URO put me on Cipro eased but did not cure my symptoms since then have tried Fosfomycin, ofloxacin, doxycycline now on Cefuroxime which is OK at least I can sleep at night but still up to pee every 4 hours. I have had a prostate massage which did help a lot and taking anti inflammatory and floxmax. I cut out all citrus juices / no coffee / no booze.

I was hoping by now this thing would just go away and still have slight symptoms. I do think this is a bacterial infection even though the test show nothing I think I just need to find the right antibiotics.

Anyone with similar story and have any ideas

Thanks

Are you married and if so, do you feel bad about the sexual encounter? It seems like a strange question but bear with me.

I can tell you its not bacterial, for many reasons. You're not going to show symptoms for AT LEAST a few days if not more, plain and simple...an immune response simply won't happen. Plus, you tested negative. And listen, if i can get over the idea of it being bacterial (proven chlamydia infection) then you for sure should be able to.

How rough was the blowjob? Did the orgasm feel different than others? Were you trying really hard to orgasm?

My guess is that you were riding a fine line between having/ not having CPPS, and for one reason or another, this blowjob tipped you over the edge.

I know its scary, but it sounds like you have it. Start therapy. Also elaborate more on your symptoms please. If all you have is a slight tingling in thigh, peeing once a night (normal) and slight burning on urination...then youre in a good spot.

Have you been doing anything yet to fix your pelvic floor? If not, I would strongly advice you to start doing that and go to pelvic PT. If there is nothing wrong with it, it won't harm you. If there is something wrong with it, it will help you.

hey Force6, I had a story very similar to yours. I was recently divorced and developed some symptoms after a sexual encounter....like yourself all tests etc were negative. I had no bad feeling or guilt about the encounter itself but what did stress me big time was the fear, anxiety and catastrophic thinking about the possibility of having picked up some infectious disease which remained undiagnosed/undiagnosable and the associated ongoing medical exams etc etc.

Try and start on the advice here to calm things down; will go a long way to help

HI Gents

Thanks for reply's make me feel better that I'm not alone dealing with this to answer some questions

To expand on my symptoms: Peeing every few hours night or day but I have upped my intake of water since MAY. Burning when I need to good like I need to go a lot (burning is always present not just when I pee). Tingling in by nuts some times and aching in the spot between my a hole and nuts.

I have read this from here - https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9671250

The results suggest that chlamydia may be one of the causative agents of chronic prostatitis.

This was also interesting a bit out of date from 2007 - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2374945/

Treatment approach
Given current data, we favor a complete examination of the patient followed by multimodal therapy. In a treatment naive patient, a 2–4 week course of antibiotics is reasonable, but should not be continued if cultures are negative and there is no improvement in symptoms. If cultures are negative, we then use a combination of an alpha blocker (tamsulosin, alfusozin) and anti-inflammatory phytotherapy (quercetin and bee pollen, for instance 1 capsule of any accredited quercetin product (Quercetin suppliers, Santa Monica CA) twice daily) for 6–12 weeks. If not successful, we use neuromuscular therapies such as pelvic muscle physical therapy, amytriptiline or gabapentin. In patients who don’t respond to conventional therapy and have prostatic stones on transrectal ultrasound, we use an anti-nanobacterial therapy such as Calciclear (Calgenex Corp, Tampa FL). In the minority of patients who do not improve with these therapies, referral to a pain management specialist is appropriate.

Any other treatments / tablets out there new

Don't do your own medical research if you don't know anything about medicine. You're looking at old studies from obscure small centers, and even then the finding of chlamydia in a small percentage of men with prostatitis (about the same % as in the normal population), means nothing. So stop trying to diagnose yourself.

If you continue reading about chlamydia and STDS then you risk furthering your bout with CPPS. These topics all induce fear deep inside and believe it or not manifest as muscular tension which results in pain and all of the other weird symptoms that everyone talks about on here. If you've been tested for an STD and don't have discharge coming out of your penis then believe the test results. The chances of getting an STD from Oral are extremely low.

Re: prostatitis since may HELP / UPDATE

Post by Force 6 »

HI Guys

here is my update so far. So I took Azithromycin 4 tablets one shot and I'm also taking Cefuroxime both are antibiotics

I started to look at other natural remedies as well and found

Quercetin. An antioxidant that helps fight inflammation. May help reduce pain and symptoms of chronic nonbacterial prostatitis. In one study, combining quercetin with bromelain and papain produced even greater effects. Bromelain and papain help the body better absorb quercetin and they also have anti-inflammatory effects.

I also Found a tablet that contains all of these 3 herbal meds called prostate wellness

Saw palmetto (Serenoa repens). Has been studied for its effects on BPH and used traditionally to treat nonbacterial prostatitis, but one preliminary scientific study found that it did not help. Saw palmetto can interact with some medications, including hormone replacement therapies and blood thinners. Ask your doctor before taking saw palmetto.
Stinging nettle (Urtica dioca). Has shown some promise in helping maintain prostate health, but studies are mixed. Stinging nettle may interact with drugs taken to treat diabetes and high blood pressure. It may also interfere with lithium, and may reduce the effects of warfarin (Coumadin). It may not be safe for pregnant women.
African pygeum (Prunus africana). May help reduce urinary symptoms of BPH and both bacterial and nonbacterial prostatitis in men with mild-to-moderate urinary symptoms.

I have been taking the above 2 together and it is like my symptoms are 99% better fingers crossed. Now I will after a few more days stop taking the antibiotics and see if there is any difference. Last night I slept without getting up. :-D

I will keep updating my progress

Thanks

I hope I'm wrong for your sake, but you might just be getting some relief which is temporary from the antibiotics. If that be the case, its temporary and everything else should return. Quercetin should help, and everything else is iffy at best, but I doubt you would see any true results from any of those supplements you just started taking this soon. Hope you're right....
Age: 52 | Onset Age:49 (but I may have had warning signs 25 yrs earlier)| Symptoms: Pretty much all the usual suspects. Frequency, urgency, inability to always empty, burning and numbing uretheral, penile & perineum pain. Frequent urination at night.| Helped By: Internal PT. Myrbetriq helps but is by no means great. TENS to help sleep, and hand held massages of the lower back, hips and buttocks. Standing and physical labor help. Stretches and hot baths. Occasionally use gel iced pad on the perineum. Worsened By: Sitting (being sedentary), driving, sex, bowel movements, tight clothing and underwear. | Other comments: Currently trying L-Theanine

Speaking in terms of temperature: maybe your current state of your body and CPPS is around 0 degrees. You went a few days below freezing point, which caused your pain. Now for some reason your back up above freezing point. Supplements can help a bit, but I'm almost certain that if you don't look into your pelvic floor you are going back again below freezing point very soon...

I hope to be wrong, but please look into pelvic PT and literature. It won't harm you

There is a topic on this forum with starter tips, use the search function for that. For literature I strongly suggest A Headache in the Pelvis.

I've been in your shoes, still am actually. I also struggled with bacterial vs non-bacterial, but I also had massive amounts of guilt over a very short exposure to the tune of losing almost 20 lbs, having a damn near nervous breakdown, etc. You claim not to have any remorse, but the one thing that stood out to me in your original post was "going to the Uro like 10 times." I'm pretty sure that level of anxiety alone is enough to cause all sorts of issues, and your focus is totally fixated on that area. I have been getting up to pee 2x a night my entire life. I don't think you ever were going too often.

But it certainly is logical to explain symptoms on a specific event. I sure did, and I still struggle with it but am just trying like hell to get over it. As you have already seen, the docs aren't going to find anything. I've exhausted all avenues as well, and docs won't do urine or semen cultures on me. They think I'm nuts. So it is what it is. I'm taking any accredited quercetin product which actually seems to help, and had 2 PT sessions so far. I don't know if they are really helping yet, but when I described my pain, the woman said she treats tons of men for the same thing. Maybe they just don't have a shady experience to link it to...
