Broccoli treatment - severe prostate pain

Post by kitmacy »

Hi,
An altogether new guy here who has been experiencing for a very long time horrific post orgasmic pain in the prostate which radiates throughout the whole pelvic region. Pain persists on a 1-10 scale, from 5 after 24 hours to 8 after 48 hours and just unbearable -this might continue for 5 to 7 days before diminishing. Does not respond to any pain killing medications. Consequence = please body, don't give me a nocturnal emission and sorry honey not tonight, my prostate basically ruined by virtue of overstretched muscles which have not reverted to normalcy and now its been years so dysfunction has set in. Every man's dream come true really.

Question - Does anyone know of any combination of vits, minerals, etc that can ideally Heal condition, but at the least, cause obvious pain and inflammation reduction? And for how long?

Secondly, does anyone know anything about the so-called Broccoli Treatment about which I've gleaned bits and pieces of information, but still not a satisfactory answer?

MANY MANY MANY THANKS FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS,
Kit.

Broccoli is rich in quercetin, so any accredited quercetin product is quicker and less arduous, IMO.

Vits and supplements will not cure you. Post-orgasmic pain is a sure sign you need to work on the pelvic floor.

Many thanks for your reply. So you are saying in essence, don't bother with the Broccoli - instead simply go with the quicker, easier to use product any accredited quercetin product which presumably I can order via the Web (even to me here in the UK) and it will probably be equally as effective? But for how long would you propose I try that product?

Do you have any reason to think that this product will CURE me? (or is it merely good for providing anti-inflammatory action?)
---------
Distressing to see you don't think any vit's program will CURE me - especially after 2 decades of problems huh?
---------
In your experience and observation then, sounds like there's no CURE apart from what can be gleaned from pelvic floor exercises, probably invasive, with Headache in the Pelvis style work. Truly hideous and I've not been able to find anyone here in the UK, even in Greater London, that is trained, willing and able.

Yes. Call Quercetin suppliers (number at top of this page). I'd say try it for at least 3 months. It was a tremendous help to me personally.

There is no permanent cure, but you can have a 99% remission that's as good as a cure. But you have to avoid the things that made you sick in the first place.

The UK is deficient in good physiotherapists in this area. Very sad.

Broccoli has a lot of toxic oxalate. A sharp edged molecule that literally shreads through the body. Its ok for most people, but can irritate inflammatory conditions. Best for us o avoid. Spinach also has a lot of this stuff.

While on the subject of what to avoid, look out for legumes and soy products. They contain phytoestrogens which can lead to a cascade of mast cell degranulation.

Thanks. I just gave a presentation on endocrine disruptors in a 6000 level grad course on phytochemicals.

What, so basically you are saying, don't eat broccoli and legumes?
Age: 41 Onset Age: 14, 22 got really bad
Symptoms: pain and discomfort perineum, a little bit while sitting in the right half of the scrotum. Sometimes dual stream while urinating. While ejaculating, not all shoots outside, some stays and flows outside with time (Without medication very painful).
Diagnosis: have seen several urologists in my life, have done any possible and pain creating diagnosis could not help me ever. Life was hopeful after googling the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol in early 2008, then every ache started making sense./ Hemorrhoids: they stress my prostate when I have a Hemorrhoid flare!
Helped By: Physical therapy, keeping myself warm, hatha yoga, stretching, walking, relaxation, distraction, Tadalafil 5 mg
Worsened By: Constipation, Fear or OCD "flare up", sitting and not doing any kind of "motion", too much tension in media or life, caffeine and acidy food
Prior Treatments: Antibiotics, Tamsulosin, Lyrica, Gabapentin, Tylenol

I see this is an old post, but one of the few that popped up when I searched Oxalate. My PT was telling me about research linking this to worsening CPPS.

Curious what you guys this about:

Code: Select all

www.lowoxalateinfo.com/who-benefits-from-a-low-oxalate-diet/
and I saw another guy on youtube who has been following Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol but claimed that adding a low oxalate diet (which I am yet to find out what it is exactly) has knocked off the remaining chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome almost to zero.

In my 10 years I have not noticed a connection between what I eat/drink and pain but I know for many of you the relation is more conspicuous.

Thoughts on Oxalate?
Age: 33| Onset Age: 24 | Symptoms: dull ache in pelvic area, tension, feeling the need to urinate, frequency, dribbling after urination, ED symptoms started 6 moths after the onset wrecking my life since, abdominal tension, tension in my thighs. | Helped By: stretching/massage , benzos | Worsened By: Mainly sex, but also sitting and anxiety| Other comments: I have seen periods of substantially less flare-ups, but now I am at a steady state where it comes back almost always after sex.

There is no research linking oxalate or oxalic acid to worsening CP/CPPS.

The only study I could find linking oxalates to any form of pelvic pain is a paper on vulvar vestibulitis (pain in the female genital region), in which the link was virtually disproved:

Webslave - You say that you are cured, but do you really mean you are actually in remission? I would think it could come back at any time to any of us - correct? So remission would be a more accurate statement? :(
Age: 52 | Onset Age:49 (but I may have had warning signs 25 yrs earlier)| Symptoms: Pretty much all the usual suspects. Frequency, urgency, inability to always empty, burning and numbing uretheral, penile & perineum pain. Frequent urination at night.| Helped By: Internal PT. Myrbetriq helps but is by no means great. TENS to help sleep, and hand held massages of the lower back, hips and buttocks. Standing and physical labor help. Stretches and hot baths. Occasionally use gel iced pad on the perineum. Worsened By: Sitting (being sedentary), driving, sex, bowel movements, tight clothing and underwear. | Other comments: Currently trying L-Theanine

I regard a sustained remission as a cure. But I'm sure I could bring it back again: stressing, gluten etc. I choose to avoid the triggers, so I can call my 18 year remission a 'cure'.

In those 18 yrs, have you ever experienced even a short term mild flareup of any type? If you haven't, and you have had a successful remission,I think that is great. Do you still do things internally with a Therawand like let's say, as maintenance therapy?

In the first few years I experienced a few mild flares when eating gluten. I therefore gave up gluten permanently and the flares have not returned. I do nothing to maintain my cured state now besides this. No internal massage, nothing. If I eat a very hot chili meal, like mouth-burning hot, I may get some irritation both anally and urethrally that lasts a day, but many 'normal' people experience the same thing, so it's not linked.
