Hello! I'm new to this forum, and I have a lot to ask and add. I wanted to ask a Flomax question.
Let me say that it's been about 21 months since this all began for me. I just woke up one morning, and must have urinated over 50X between 6am and 2pm. As I could no longer tolerate it, I rushed from work to an immediate care where I was diagnosed with an enlarged prostate. I was given Flomax and told to follow up with a Urologist. That was a Friday, and by Sunday I was in the ER. It was all downhill from there. I was 49yrs old at that time. I was on HBP medication for years at this point, and it affected erections like they usually do. After starting the Flomax, erections were no longer a problem. I get them all the time when I fall asleep. It's so bad, I thought I now had Priapism. I also know that Flomax has a rare side effect of unresolved Priapism for some people.
So my question is: Has anybody experienced this same problem after taking Flomax? I'm on my 4th Urologist (the first 2 fired me as their patient). Every Urologist has laughed and told me that I should be glad I'm getting these erections all the time at night. But I have informed them that prior to having these problems, my BHP made it difficult to get or maintain them more often then not. Having a constant erection is not as fun as it may seem. It can get quite painful. Of course when I wake up with one, I have to urinate real bad even though it is difficult. Urinating makes it go away. But soon as I fall back asleep, there is a 50/50 chance it will return. Sometimes it happens 3-4 times a night. It can happen every night for a week then just stop. Then after a short hiatus, it will return. Also, these erections seem to happen after a major flare up is starting to subside. Any thoughts?
For the record, I can't tolerate Flomax. I've tried 3-4 times and I can't tolerate it for more than 2 weeks. I refuse to use it.
Flomax question.

Flomax question.
Age: 52 | Onset Age:49 (but I may have had warning signs 25 yrs earlier)| Symptoms: Pretty much all the usual suspects. Frequency, urgency, inability to always empty, burning and numbing uretheral, penile & perineum pain. Frequent urination at night.| Helped By: Internal PT. Myrbetriq helps but is by no means great. TENS to help sleep, and hand held massages of the lower back, hips and buttocks. Standing and physical labor help. Stretches and hot baths. Occasionally use gel iced pad on the perineum. Worsened By: Sitting (being sedentary), driving, sex, bowel movements, tight clothing and underwear. | Other comments: Currently trying L-Theanine

Re: Flomax question.
Unfortunately after I stop taking Flomax the erections continue. I was off it for almost a year at one point, and they still come. What pisses me off (pardon any pun), is that every Urologist I've seen tells me they know nothing of such a side effect.
