It would also be extremely useful if anyone can provide specific information abou t specific Chinese Herbs or Formulations.
As in the case of any purported medicines or therapies, we must all use our best critical judgement in deciding about these things.
But it would not be at all surprising if traditional Chinese Medicine could provide some things that could help.
It may be difficult to obtain this information, but if anyone is in a position to provide good information, it would be appreciated.

For the chinese herb, I consulted a doctor in Shenzhen for 2 years. He is a TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine) practitioner specialised in "Andrology". "Andrology" is quite a new area in TCM and was started and founded by a TCM doctor called 'Dr Cao' (http://www.doctorcao.com/ http://www.istcma.org). The formula used by his drug is the standard and most other drugs just derive from his forumla. My doctor is a student of him and is a member of the International Society of TCM Andrology.
In Hong Kong, you can also find some TCM doctors claiming they are specializing in Andrology or Prostatitis, like the one practising in Tong Ren Tang(http://www.tongrentang.com). However, I believe the drug and the consultation fee there will be relatively high. (Please let me know after you have consulted them)
For formula, chinese herbs drug shouldn't be taken without consultation. Because it is a combination of many herb and can be effective for someone,but can be harmful for the other. Therefore it is high recommeded that you see a doctor instead of buying some chinese herb drugs yourself. Very often, they will add some herb, and reduce the other specifiedly for your physique. So don't try it yourself.

The duration of the treatment really depends on patients. For me, I got totally symptoms free after 3 months. But when I stopped the herb, my protate became swollen again..so I continued the treatment for 2 years. From my experience, herb can allievate the symptoms, but it is difficult to be regarded as a cure as it is a chronic disease which can recur easily. Let's take ProtaQ as example, when I take it, I feel good, no symptoms, if I stop it for a week, some symptoms may come back...
Now I am takiung some drug to cure my gastritis and royal jelly. I used to take royal jelly with any accredited quercetin product and I feel swollen prostate. But taking royal jelly alone, I feel good, but dunno why.
