Do I have Prostatitis - please help

Post by Snootles »

Hi

I’m hoping you can help. I’m 45 and suffer on and off from urinary problems. The first time I had a problem was when I was 30 just after my wedding. I had a dull ache between the anus and scrotum, felt like I had been kicked there. I also felt that I needed to pee all the time. I’d empty my bladder but and few minutes after felt like I needed to pee again. That all lasted for months. The problem has come back occasionally over the last 15 years. I also get some dribbling after peeing. I suffer from anxiety and a few phobias. I saw a psychologist for quite a while when I had the first bout of discomfort as it really got me down. I’ve had a few urine tests but they never showed up any infection.

A few months ago the problem came back. Not the ache between anus and scrotum but the feeling of needing a pee constantly, dribbling. The feeling is more in the penis than the bladder. My doctor did a DRE test. I’m not very good at anything medical, one of my phobias! and nearly fainted. When he touched the prostate I got a shock as it was quite painful. He said it was enlarged and gave me antibiotics. After a 6 week course the problem disappeared but its now back. I feel slight discomfort in my penis like I need to pee and slight discomfort around my anus. I have some dribbling after peeing. The odd thing is when I walk it feels like I can feel urine in my bladder moving. That’s the only way I can describe it.

I have a desk job so I sit a lot. I’ve never had any pain ejaculating. Maybe once or twice had a burning sensation when peeing. I do get sharp stabbing pains sometimes in my anus when I need a movement and these can be really painful.

I worry a lot. It's really getting me down. The thing that goes through my head is “is it cancer”. I guess everyone has those thoughts. But it’s been on and off for years and have always had symptoms.

Is it prostatitis? What do you recommend?

Thanks!

This does sound like UCPPS ... have you seen a urologist?
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.
