any body here taking a statin for high cholesterol? I've been on one for a month and having difficulty urinating and burning. I don't know if its my prostatitis coming back or a side effect.

I'm off that cholesterol medicine for 2 weeks now and my dick is feeling much better. I guess I'll have a heart attack instead of being uncomfortable.

I'm still feeling good, I'm off all meds and just taking a few daily vitamins. Does anyone know of any vitamins that should be avoided so I don't run into the same trouble as I did with the cholesterol med?
I was also wondering if homosexuality had any link with prostatitis? I read some stories about guys thinking they got this from a sex toy, but then most people get relief from the internal trigger points using the wand. I would think that this wand is kind of like a sex toy. Any thoughts Webslave?

Vitamins are often acid and can provoke flares especially in people with bladder-centred symptoms. That's why Quercetin suppliers makes a special low-acid multivitamin (Bladder Smart)

Nope, no proof of that

I'm feeling great. Not taking any medication at all. I don't know if its a success story yet, I will check back in a few weeks or months with progress. Not having much sex though and absolutely not playing by myself with the little man.

Checking in.... still feeling good. I think that you need to focus your attention on something else, whether it be good or bad, to take your mind off of it. For example, if you shot your self in the foot. You would think about the pain for a while and eventually it would heal. I think you would notice that the prostatitis would heal also. This is what happened to me, I became so focused on a separate unrelated health issue that when it went away, so did my prostate pain..

I also think that when we try all these different diets, exercises, therapy, medicine, vitamins that they all seem to work in the beginning. When we start a new thing our mind is telling us its working and we feel better, but eventually we convince our selves its not working and go back to the beginning. I swore to God that the Broccoli diet was working because I was so obsessed with broccoli, all I thought about was broccoli. After eating it, I would be thinking of where I would pick some more up for my next meal, or if I should use frozen or organic. I would go to different stores to get the best broccoli I could find. Its actually not a bad way to trick someone into NOT thinking about their dick for a while. I can see it working for some people.

There's a lot of head stuff going on with this disease of ours.

I've been feeling great so I went back on my cholesterol medicine (atorvastatine) for 3 days now and its messing with my dick. It gives me a burning feeling especially when I urinate. Does anybody know of any Cholesterol medicine that has little or no side effects? I tried fish oil for a few months but it gave me a bad consistent stomach ache.

From the "Prostatitis Tips" page:

Some men experience bad effects from drugs like Prilosec, Lipitor, Lescol, and Aciphex.

So the anti-cholesterol drugs are often triggers.

I try to eat right but don't work. I'm not heavy just out of shape. 5'9"/160lbs. I switched to simvastatin and will see what effects it has on me.

Your symptoms seems very similar to mine. I'm about 7 months in and things seem to be calming down quite a bit but I still have tension that builds throughout the day and causes an uncomfortable feeling in the lower part of my penis. One stretch that seems to help is sitting in a natural squat "ass to grass". I'll sit like this periodically throughout the day. I also take my shower this way and then alternate between hot and cold toward the end. I'm able to drive and fly again without too much worry about pain. Supplements that have been helpful include L-Theanine, Scull Cap, Valerian, and Graminex PollenAid. Presently experimenting with Black Haw which is known to relax smooth muscle tissue in the pelvic floor. Once I got to a certain point of recovery I've gradually gone back to working out hard, whether running, lifting, sit-ups, mountain biking, etc. I've found that getting back into the activities that are important to me is a psychological boost and helps me to regain my control of my body and thinking. Lastly, I've been obtaining from masturbating which has actually been way easier than I thought. The only problem now is that my penis is so sensitive that I have terrible stamina and feel like forest gump whenever I do have sex with my wife. But laying off does seem to keep the nerves calm.

I agree with you. I have been abstaining from masturbation so much that I only last a few minutes and my guy is also a little sore the next day. But I feel good so I'm not complaining. I'll get her a dildo if she wants.
